Seen a few myself. Beautiful exterior. Interior is nice too. The screen graphics (especially on the speedo) look lame IMO. And why oh why can't Hyundai get their motors up to the competitors for power and fuel economy. Ford, GM and even Lexus are all pushing 400+ out of their V6tts
I think the G80 in the United States will be cancelled in the not so distant future.
400+ HP and yet the LS500 still can't outrun a G90 with the old 3.3TT.
In the modern era (). I can’t think of any brand since the 2003 GMC Sierra that had rear wheel steering. Lexus LS came out with it for 2019 then the new Mercedes S class this year now has it…now the G80. Feel free to correct me if the Lexus LS is not the first luxury brand in the modern era to do it.
Late to this party, but the Acura RLX, a direct competitor in the same class, had AWS as standard equipment for its entire model run from 2013-2020.
Some pretty drastic changes for the 2022 U.S. MY. The entire 3.5T line has been replaced by the Sport version and now comes only with AWD. No wonder they didn't bump up the HP.
I like the cross overs they have. I think they will do well and I think are. The brand is really far behind everyone else though, but that’s ok . Also…I wish there was a KIA Boreggo body on frame version for the brand.

i'm sure launching a 20 year old suv would improve their chances.

They priced it way too high. It's not going to sell at those prices, I have not seen a single new G80 on the road where I see the older model everywhere. You have to pay 63K just to get a 6 cylinder, that is just crazy. Many people in the midsize luxury sedan market want a 6 cylinder and don't want to be paying anywhere near that for a Korean lux brand whose resale value plummets. The G90 is not that much more, I would just spring for the G90, much better value.

So much in this post that's objectively false that it's not even worth my time addressing lol.

I would bet the next G90 is going to move up in price. I think the G80's biggest issue is unattractive lease deals. People in this class aren't sticklers for 6 cylinders, they've long since bought turbo I4s in droves now that the class leaders took that approach. An Mercedes-Benz E450 costs $63k, BMW 540i xDrive costs $62k, and both come with less equipment at that price.

A base G90 already costs $75K. The idea that it's a "better value" when the base model costs more than a loaded G80 with the older powertrain/platform and tech is ludicrous to begin with.

I have seen numerous G80s parked at the Hyundai dealer out in St Catharines near Niagara Falls. I think they look great there. But in the wild, I have seen just one and it reminds me of the Sonata…it’s presence is small and doesn’t look the sedan it’s trying to be.
On the other hand, the GV80 looks sensational on the roads and the GV70 look pretty good. Sadly the G90 looks way to bloated and does not look contemporary in any way.
