Since I commute < 50 miles daily and like to drive
400 miles for fun I would be very interested in a plug-in.
Weeks without a fuel stop and then vacationing without
an extended Supercharger visit sounds pretty good.

Yes, would definitely be on the short list.

It's probably going to be a hot seller with the this hybrid plug-in and the luxury features. Pricing already sounds expensive though.

The PHEV RX would absolutely be at the top of my list for a replacement car (or even the PHEV NX if it's going to be based on the Harrier/Venza). Going by the RAV4 Prime's price premium, I have a feeling it's going to be at least 5k more than the regular RX hybrid. And if Panasonic can't keep their battery supplies up, we're going to be waiting a long long time to get one.

Yes the wait is going to be long. The Rav4 Prime is in limited production this model year of 5000. Most of them will go to Calif and the Northeast. Most dealers will only see one. I talked to my local Toyota dealer last week and they said there were not any available in Florida. Even the Rav4 hybrid is in short supply. So introducing the NX and RX PHEV is only going to be a huge supply problem unless Toyota figures it out.

If I had to buy a CUV, the RX PHEV would certainly be the top contender. Presumably the RX PHEV would use the exact same setup as the RAV4 Prime and I really like the AWD system that TMC implemented on it.

Also the $7500 federal tax credit, which will effectively increase the market value of the car by that much. And any state credits/incentives as well.
