Is it the Lexus NX series that's in competition with the Buick Encore GX?
No, not IMO. The Encore GX, like Nissan's Rogue Sport, seems to be a rather odd size.....in between the B-class (Subcompact) and C-class (Compact) crossovers. The Lexus NX, which is RAV4-based, is a C-class compact. The smaller Lexus UX (a B-class crossover) is actually closer, though not exactly, to the Encore GX in size. The smaller Buick Encore, which has been in production since 2013 (and is actually a rebadged version of the European Opel Mokka) is definitely a B-class subcompact, half a size down from the larger Encore GX.
So, to specifically answer your question, the Encore GX appears to be in an odd size between the Lexus UX and NX.
Well, it is.....with a sub-forum for general car chat.
Just look around on other car-forums on the Internet. You will see that we are not alone by any means. Many of them have sub-forums that, just like us, deal with general car-chat of different vehicle brands. One forum calls their versions of it the "Garage", where they do just what we do.....discuss all vehicles in separate treads.
We also get a lot of traffic in Car Chat.....it is an extremely popular sub-forum. Post something here, and you usually won't wait for days to get a response, like in some other forums.
We need to create an additional forum titled: 'General Car Chat for Seniors'
This way Buick will have its own sub-forum and the rest of us will not get pinged about 'Grocery Getters'
No, we do not. The idea that Buick is a seniors-only brand is nonsense. I have addressed that issue numerous times...and am getting tired of repeating it.
It's true that many older people do drive Buicks, but you can also say that for the Lexus ES and LS. Same with Lincolns....and the Mercedes S-class.
the rest of us will not get pinged about 'Grocery Getters'
....and, with all due respect, I don't know about you, but most of the rest of us have to buy groceries on a regular basis. It's part of daily life.

now that is slick, why did it take until 2020 for someone to come up with this? It drastically increases the usefulness as a hauler. Any other GM vehicles come with this style of front seat?
OK, Folks, I'll break the ice. I ordered a new 2021 Encore GX today. Has to come from Korea, so probably 6-8 weeks. Yes, I know there are incentives and GM Employee Pricing on leftover 2020s, but I felt a 2021 was potentially safer, reliability-wise....first-year GM products are often risky, except for the (former) Opel-derived Buicks. The current Encore GX, unlike the Encore, is not Opel-derived.
Tired now (it's been a long day)...but, after a nap, I'll get back this evening (East Coast time) and fill you in on more of the details.....colors, packages, options.
(Oh, and I'm changing the thread-title, because no one needs guess any more)
I certainly can’t fault anyone for buying this little gem. It’s too small for me, but I know several people that own them & love them as their primary or commuter car. I really haven’t heard much bad about them & I see them all over the roads, so they are a top seller. Enjoy!
Its been a bit since I owned a Buick, but when I did, they always took care of me, no matter what dealer I went to. If I was in the market for an inexpensive small car that isn’t striped, the Encore would be at the top of the list. My closest Subaru dealer is 135 miles away & they are not known for customer service, so Subaru would not make my list.

It's been on several other vehicles. I know the new Terrain has it. Tacoma has had it since 2005 (not sure if the 2016+ models do). I think the Honda Element did as well.
well all dealers are stealerships i dont trust any nor buy any car from them unless i get 10k off msrp and pay cash
You must not buy many new cars. There isn’t that much profit built into most of the lower cost vehicles. You would do extremely well with a $3-5k discount. I remember a Nissan sales manager friend showed me his invoices for his Sentras - less than $2k total profit. Of course they make money on extras, finance & warranties. The only time I have seen $10k off on anything, is when there was hail damage, or new model intros coming & the factory provided massive incentives to move all inventory. I got a great deal on my RX 450h because it was a demo with 4k & a great deal on the Camaro, because it had been in stock for over 700 days & was a 6 speed manual. Millennials don’t want stick shifts anymore & I understand that. It’s what my wife wanted & she loves it.
