Thanks. I'm not all that knowledgeable about the type of chips but I know it's affecting the production of new cars. Other brands are either removing features or shipping cars to their destination partially assembled to wait for the chips.

Congrats! W223 styling has definitely grown on me, looks great!!!
It's a great. The texh is awesome. The build is great. Everything feels sturdy and substantial. A bit more floaty than what I'm used to.
My only gripe is that's it's missing a standard feature which is the massaging and active bolstering due to the chip shortage. So they give you a $1,700 credit on the msrp.
The car would have had a $10k markup but i was able to dodge it by agreeing to sticker before the car was delivered.
I was also shopping for an escalade. Every dealer I've spoken with wanted 7-25k over sticker. No way I'm paying that much for what's basically a Chevy Tahoe.
congrats, didn't know the massaging and active bolstering are standard features. i am glad MB is quick to adjusting the options instead of delaying the car. i am very surprised you were able to get the car for sticker. in today's market that's really considered a steal!

i'm amazed mercedes flagship is also impacted by a chip shortage which (though my understanding may be wrong) affected very old generation low density chips.
chip shortage affects EVERYTHING across all industries, from low tech to high tech. i work across multiple process nodes of chips, the shortage is crazy.

A lot of people with BMW's on order are also reporting delays and ordered cars coming in without certain features. Sounds like they are being credited for missing options.
I was at the Lexus dealer here in Massachusetts yesterday getting an oil change and they only had 10 new cars on the lot!!!!!! They have taken some of the loaners and selling them as used cars. The lot was empty. Crazy times, they are desperate. The service manager said they were only receiving about 5 new cars per week 👎👎👎
You can't get those anymore??? S-class is out of our league but I always thought the active bolstering seats in the other ones was a neat feature.
I agree with you.
It's a standard feature but some cars are built without it due to the chip shortage. I heard that feature requires like 3 chips. It's like they're rationing chips lol

Gotcha, not to go OT but chip shortage, all the brand new gen GM big SUVs have temporarily lost the start/stop feature due to chip shortage. However, that would be fine by me because start/stop I can't stand.
Missing out on the cool stuff in a $110k+ S-Class would bother me, however.
It would bother me too, but if its something you've never had you don't miss it. And theres nothing MB can do about it, the chip shortage is what it is

I noticed this last year and it's still the same. It's creepy. Huge dealer my family used since I was a kid, like a dozen cars. I remember telling my DH that was just creepy and weird bc it's a GMC/Buick (formerly Oldsmobile) dealer where trucks and Yukons fly off the lots, usually.
