I cant tell what the thin slot is above the rear passenger seat, where the Vanity mirror used to be. It looks like an air vent. Where did the rear vanity mirror go?

Anybody else want see-through lower doors like in the pre-production model/concept? or is that just me?

I might be in the minority but I like the exterior. It's so understated without a lot of styling fluff that it has more presence and draws attention. Kind of like the Audi A8's less is more. Not sure about the interior/dash.

Also disappointing that the Level 3 autonomous driving will not debut with the car. So this retains the same distronic plus system as the previous generation until an update is available.

looks like stretched A class

i don't like the triangle tail lights. It makes the butt look pinched.

dunno why they didn't take cues from the amg GT.

You would think with all the electronic wizardry nonsense....Mercedes could have included an electric glove compartment latch....Cadillac had this button and made the glove compartment electronic long ago

I do think this new S class is a sensational redesign. Some of the stuff seems a little silly but this car should be over the top. Can’t wait to read about the EV model....

Might (?) be that small button on the underside of the fob.

agreed. as for those who hate the interior, ok, the car's not for them. can't please everyone and mercedes has to look to the future. anyone notice the spacex draon was controlled entirely by touchscreens (all iPads I believe), while the shuttle was gazillions of buttons. same deal.

It’s a light. The rear vanity mirrors are gone.

I don’t have an issue with screens, I just like well integrated screens, which these aren’t. The SpaceX capsule is not a luxury automobile.

I know we have seen some reviewers videos so far, but I quite enjoyed the world premier virtual video. I thought it was very clever to show the production site, and slowly reveal what the S class would look like from each stage of production .

Some highlights to the video:
The headlights with the optional digital beams that project images to the floor in front of the car. 7:58 (welcome light) and 9:29 (guides the driver to highlight obstacles)
4D sound built into the seat so you can feel the bass 8:34
Ambient lighting linked to safety systems such as blind spot assist and exit assist 9:19
