Several Toyota powerplants could probably vie for the contest of "best Toyota engine ever". Certainly the 2JZ / 3.0L in-line six has to be one of them.

I cant wait for the twin turbo V8 to make it's way to the streets. I drive a GS460. Love making V6 stangs and challengers owners wish they had sprung for the V8 option. All smiles.

People don’t realize how awesome a V8 is until they are gone.

How do you define best? Most advanced, most efficient, most inexpensive, most powerful? Toyota had so many great engines over the years, from the humble 22R and L diesel workhorses, to the silky smooth UZ V8s, to the very advanced 2GR/1UR/2UR, to the ***** to the wall 2JZ-GTE, all the way to the orgasmic LFA's V10. And while not of any interest to me, they pioneered hybrids and continue to have class leading hybrid models.

V8s are dwindling but they will thrive in vehicles most of us cant afford.

Forgive my ignorance. What are they putting a twin turbo V8 in?

Until you see how expensive it is going to be which means really low sales, whatever it goes in will have a ridiculous premium tacked on.

I would vote for the 3-UZ because it's way more performance oriented.

The 2-UZ-powered LC and LXs are underpowered and slow.
