I would vote for the 3-UZ because it's way more performance oriented.
The 2-UZ-powered LC and LXs are underpowered and slow.
(Although never owned a 5.7) while I would probably vote for the 3UR over the 2UZ, the 4.7 was used in smaller sized products as well. 4Runner and GX as well as 1st gen Tundra. 2UZ was also the million mile Tundra, when they tore it down they said it performed better than brand new 4.7 motors

I never saw that do you have a link? I know about the million mile Tundra but not the teardown.
I'm sure the 5.7 UR in the trucks is fantastic but I didn't care for it in the 460 versus the UZ in my LS430.
no doubt its a good bulletproof engine but its very understressed and weak on power
Understressed is a good thing, no?
2-UZ was working hard in the LC/LX because they were slow; I don't think it was understressed.
That's why I think the 3-UZ is a better choice. It is so undertaxed and understressed it's ridiculous. You could drive an LS430 and literally never have to crest 2300 RPM except in emergencies when you need maximum power.
