Pick one: Clean interior or clean exterior?
Not sure how to do a poll, but maybe someone can add it. You can only pick one answer - would you rather your car interior be clean, or would you rather the exterior be clean? I had this random thought the other day while driving. I think I'd rather have the interior be clean.
Except for some occasional mud/dirt in the driver's footwell, my interior is almost always spotless, so I spend most of my time on keeping the exterior clean, particularly after salt-exposure. But the undercarriage of the vehicle is the most important of all. That's where most rust problems on modern vehicles start.......brake lines, suspension parts, steering-arms, etc......
One thing I especially like on my Lacrosse is that Buick used a special coating/manufacturing process on the brake rotors that makes them rustproof......they look like the day they were built, regardless of weather, rain, salt, etc....

This is a tough one. Do you mean we can only have one or the other?
Most seem to be replying that they naturally take care of the inside so they pick the exterior to cover both bases, but is that what the poll is asking?
I pick exterior because it is so frustrating after you've washed the car only for it to rain (because the forecast was completely wrong),or get hit with bird droppings, or an errant sprinkler hose, or big splatter. I naturally keep the interior clean.
If I could only have one or the other, then I pick interior since I spend more time inside the car and a mess or spills/smells would seriously detract from enjoyment of the car. In short, it's what's inside that counts.

Both, always.
But I guess I'd take interior over exterior. If I am giving someone a ride, for instance, they are going to spend more time looking at the interior, and will probably silently judge me if I have a dirty/cluttered interior. :P

I can't stand a dirty interior, was like that with my first car. You are in and stare at the interior the most when owning a car so the interior design is just as important if not more important to me when I consider/buy a car. Exterior just gets dirty too much from pollen, rain to be too obsessive about washing it all the time plus when you wash a exterior with soft clear you just put more scratches/swirls in it. I care more about a polished surface then a clean one, if I see the car is covered in swirls/scratches/spots I have to polish it.
At least, in FL, you usually don't have to put up with salt. Aside from deep mud (which you sometimes see on 4WD off-roaders), salt is probably what screws up a vehicle's appearance the most.

, my vote is on the interior.
