Shelby F-150
Hope this isn't a repost.......I didn't see any previous threads except for an old Shelby Raptor for 2013. Anyhow, oddly, at my home Chevy/Buick/GMC dealership (where I'm getting an alignment today and some factory updates), they have, for sale, a new bright blue/white-stripe Shelby Ford F-150. I didn't have my cell-phone camera with me, or else I would have gotten some shots of it........but it looks just like this image. Asking $106,000 (they'll probably get it, maybe more)...but it is a beautiful truck, one of the most stunning I've seen. With 755 HP, it is essentially the Shelby Mustang's Super-snake supercharged V8.
It looked just like this, though. I was caught somewhat flat-footed here......I didn't know that Shelby was going to do a version of the new F-series, especially now that Carroll Shelby himself has passed away. But, I guess, the company itself carries on.

After doing a little research on it, apparently it debuted at the SEMA show this year...I don't usually follow that show very closely, since I'm not into the customizing/slamming/aftermarket stuff. Since this is from a mainstream manufacturer, though, I would have more-expected it to debut at L.A. or Detroit.

Though I did not test-drive the Shelby F-150 that I saw (didn't even ask, because I knew what the answer would probably be LOL)
, even from a static/review point, this truck completely blows the old SVT Lightning (which I remember well) right out of the water. This truck costs 100K+ for a reason.....there's simply no comparison in interior/trim/paint/hardware/equipment with the Lightning.
Shelby also did work for Chrysler back in the early 1980s, on the Omni/Horizon FWD subcompacts, and, a couple of decades later, on a home-designed Shelby roadster with a modified Olds Aurora V8.

I have one of the Custom steering wheels for the GLH's
Congratulations. Must have been interesting work.
My late Mother, at the time, was driving a bread-and-butter Omni, and I got a chance to test-drive one of the first GLHs to arrive at that dealership. Interesting from a driver's perspective, but, unfortunately, poorly-built, just like all of the American-designed Chrysler products of the period (and like my Mom's Omni LOL). I'm not necessarily blaming Shelby, or the Shelby conversion-package, for that...they just had a relatively poorly-made platform from Chrysler to start with.

Yeah I agree with that. I worked at NTW with a guy that had a 1986 Charger Shelby he said the interior was very cheap.
The man that owned the 1st press fleet management company " Automotive & Media" told me the company was started because prior to that journalists would pickup vehicles at the factory,
until a journalist came to pickup a dodge & it came off the line with a big dent on the passenger side.
Back to the Shelby F-150, I suspect there would be more potential interest in if Ford had introduced it at L.A. rather than SEMA. But the introduction of the Tesla Cybertruck is also taking much of the publicity right now.
This is probably a sign of the times. More and more manufacturers are introducing new vehicles, prototypes and technology at SEMA vs. traditional auto shows. BMW MB and others are skipping some traditional shows around the country.
