See Forbes article. His net worth dropped 770MM.

I'm sure Ford and Chevy are shaking in their boots. Forget a diesel American truck with a 4 figure torque rating, buy a crappy electric Tesla instead.

What a joke.

Wow. He only has $13B instead of $13.7B. I feel bad for him.

As I often do, I have to agree wth AJT123. Musk bit off a little more than he could chew with the Cybertruck.....the Big Three Domestics aren't exactly shaking, although the Silverado is clearly losing sales to the Ram. While Musk obviously isn't going to be living on the street and sleeping on any heat-grates, losing almost 800M on this roll-out alone is not a laughing matter.

I'd totally rock a used one in the $25k range and it would be my beater car. I could park it anywhere and not worry about dings or damage or bullets even. I could pull F150s out of EV parking spots and have 500hp on tap to run past pesky coal rollers. When the zombie apocalypse comes, this is definitely the car to have because... it comes with a solar panel option! You could rock 15-30 miles a day supposedly on solar power alone. This is the best doomsday prepper car ever

My co-worker really likes it - and go-figure he's the lead UX/designer at our software company...He said it reminds him of something from the 80's. He even mocked it up as a custom Ghostbuster's vehicle!

I personally don't like it - but if Tesla was going for the masses with the Model 3, they are going for a super niche market with this one. It doesn't "align" with the design of the other vehicles they have been coming out so that's a bit off for a fledgling tech company/car company.

Can't imagine a poster of their cars - model 3, model S, Model Y, Model X, Tesla Semi and.....the Cybertruck? One of these things just doesn't belong...

They simply didn't have time to do better... So it will look different by the time production model comes.

And yes, it looks unfinished and rushed, like cars from B movies from 80s.

Polarizing indeed. The stats are quite nice for payload, towing, 0-60, 500mile range etc.. but let's wait and see. I'd rather see that 500 mile range in the Model S. I don't think this will be below $40,000. This wild concept will be toned down A LOT, there are so many sharp edges that won't pass safety and pedestrian crash regulations lol

sloping rear headroom in a truck. What can go wrong? That legroom looks laughable when put up against any crew cab truck. Watched a few videos and you actually have to watch your head to get in because of the extreme slope of the A and C pillars. Have to watch your head like youre getting in a lamborghini...then you realize its a truck

Lol nobody is going to buy this, except people in tony areas of Los Angeles and other cosmopolitan meccas.

Like, I'm laughing thinking of your average American needing a truck for heavy duty work and forgoing a regular 1500/2500 (which is the vehicle USA does best hands down) for some silly electric status symbol junk. Forget the GMC with a Corvette motor or the F-150 with 510lb/ft of torque, both of which can tow well over 10k lbs and take insane amounts of abuse. No, let's be cool and buy a Tesla. That may work for cars (and I don't even understand that part), but for trucks in the good ole USA? Never, sorry.

Don’t underestimate the stupidity of the average buyer. I know several people that own trucks that have never towed a thing in their lives. Heck, they wouldn’t know how to back a trailer up, or even connect the trailer in the first place. The people I am referring to, go to HD a few times a year and use the bed only. Probably a minority, compared to total truck market, but enough people that have trucks that don’t use them as trucks.
