this thing will go head to head with the supra. Wonder what Nissan is doing, maybe put the Q60 redline engine in it
Stock, it will definitely hold it's own with the high output VR, but it can't go nowhere near a modded b58, unless Nissan shores up the internals significantly.
Simple formula:
1) keep weight below 3,300lbs
2) put in new turbo V6 with 400hp from Q60
3) have option for manual
4) update basic tech like NAV and gauges
5) Don’t put any crazy tech features that ruin the driving experience
6) Keep price at $30-45k
7) Most Important- make the exterior styling LOOK GOOD. The current gen has always looked like crap to me.

There's no way the price will be $30K-$45K for a 400HP Z. It will be over 50K easy.
That V6 from the Q Redsport is still inferior to the B58 in the Supra, it will get slaughtered that's for sure. Then again, they can do whatever they want, never cared for this Z. Also, the published numbers for the Supra should be taken with a grain of salt. I guess Toyota is worse than BMW this time around in downplaying the "real" output.

I like those formulas, but 1 and 6 (if #2 is included, more close to $40k+) are going to be tough.

Based on what? The thing holding that Engine back is the transmission. There is nothing inferior about the VR30.
