Lexus sales rep salary.
Hey guys, I'm thinking about a career change. I'm in sales and always been a top performer. I love lexus and own 2 and only car I would want to sell is one I believe in. Can I get a realistic idea of what the pay looks like? Obviously there is a range of salary based on skill. Just curious what that range looks like?
If you're a good salesperson you can make WAY more money selling things other than cars. Car sales is a very tough business. Top, top performers may be able to make $100k, but that's being a top, top performer, LONG hours, high stress work, dealing with the public. You can do better than that exponentially in other more lucrative fields.
Lexus is just a car, pay for Lexus salespeople is similar to other luxury marqued cars. Oddly enough you can make more selling used cars than new cars.
What other types of sales can you make more? Pretty much anything but retail or door to door type/MLM stuff. Real estate, insurance, industrial/commercial supply sales, pharmaceutical sales, equipment sales on and on and on and on. Car sales is very low paying for people who are good salespeople...thats why most car salespeople are so terrible.
Multi-genertational salesperson talking here. Do you work long hours and have stress dealing with the public and work on 100% commission now? Add that to not having ANY income if you dont sell any cars.

I agree with Steve in that, as a sales-rep, there are a lot of other things you can sell besides just vehicles. Besides the things that he mentioned, large appliances, for example (refrigerators, washers/dryers, ovens/ranges, etc....) are usually sold, both in department stores and appliance-specific outlets, by commissioned salespeople.
And, of course, you can always try another brand of vehicle if you are tired of selling Lexus products. One very interesting brand to sell would be Subarus....particularly since you are (apparently) in New Hampshire (nh?). Subarus have a dedicated following that can be compared, in some instances, to a cult....particularly in your part of the country (New England), Colorado, and the Northern Rockies.

I dont live under a rock guys... I understand there are other sales positions. I am in telecommuting at the moment. My options are broad. I posted here because this is a "Lexus" forum. Inquiring about pay hoping there are maybe some lexus reps on here. Thanks for your input, but honestly neither of them were helpful nor relevant. As far as subarus go.. I'm all set selling them.. I stated I am only interested in selling lexus cus I might enjoy it. I'm not going for just the money as I make good money now. 100k is my target. Appreciate input though bros.
My thoughts are that if you were to become a Lexus salesperson with no experience selling cars, the chances of failing would be quite high. The chances of getting to Lexus before starting out mainstream are probably very low. Like any other industry, selling cars is quite competitive.
Can all be ordered online.

I know a few Lexus salespeople, and several others who sell other brands and I hired one a few years ago. None of them made $100k. I also know many, many other salespeople in many other fields, and have a very good understanding of what sorts of incomes are achievable in a wide variety of sales positions. But, like you said not relevant lol

Apparently you dont know how to read. I have extensive sales experience and have been a top performer in multiple fields. My mind is not made up, I am looking into quite a few other sales positions. I am a sales manager currently making good money. I am looking to possibly venture out. Again, I posted here because this is a LEXUS FORUM.. that doesnt mean my mind is made up? Lol iI asked about LEXUS SALARIES. But you continue to waste your time typing books that are not relevant to lexus salaries. Seems like you are here to gloat. Listen to your advice because your a good salesman? Lol okay man. Good for you. Anyone with relevant info want to chime in?
I think since you are passionate about Lexus, maybe it can help you be successful selling Lexus. One of my pet peeves buying a car is that since I am a car enthusiast I feel like I know more about the specific cars I am interested in buying than the salespeople. I would expect if a salesperson works at a specific dealer they should know the product they are selling but many do not. If you are passionate about cars I would probably enjoy buying from you but then I am always one to try and get the lowest price so that could frustrate you.
Anyway, a good friend of mine has been selling cars for a long time and is good at it and has worked his way up to a GM at a couple Ford dealers at 31 years old. He worked a ton in that position and then left. He is now a GSM at a Mercedes dealer and makes really good money. It can be done but you have to be good.

You think so? Idk. Sales is sales. A lot of it is personality and I'm a quick learner. If I decide to make the move I'm pretty much being told I have it. But theres a few companies trying to recruit me, comcast is offering me up to 100k. But I don't know if I want to stay in this same realm of business, been doing telecommunication and home services for awhile now.
