Recently just became a convert myself as we just had our third child. We weren't able to find anything in the 3 row SUV market that could offer the same advantages as the van. Our previous vehicle was a VW Atlas, seems as though the only big sacrifice was AWD.

i still think the pacifica is best looking especially with new sport trim, but this carnival's interior is incredible.
I think they both look pretty good. The Kia interior would put it over the top for me...the only bad part is that its a little smaller than the competition. I like my minivans big
