^^^ I forgot about the targa top! Looks awesome with it off and the higher spoiler looks better than the lower one which just doesn’t look right on this car. The new Supra should have had that option just like the MKIII and IV had.

So GM discovered the secret sauce to making a reliable, fast and relatively inexpensive sports car that Toyota and BMW can't compete with. Seems legit.

My friend have you been living under a rock?
Corvettes have been no joke from the 1st generation.
Most recent C7 generation will run circles over any Toyota or BMW.

I suggest you take a any trim and especially Z06 or ZR1 for a drive.
Also the Camaro has incredible performance as well in SS or ZL1 trim.

Corvettes are heavily involved in racing.

Congratulations on the order. Is that color combination possible? If so, it is highly unusual. Yellow paint almost always goes wth a black interior (or sometimes tan), not red.

That's a sharp-looking interior, BTW......except for the row of a couple of dozen buttons down the center-console ridge.

Yeah.....I remember the old Viper red/yellow combo for the wheels, but not a yellow/red interior combination.

hardly surprising. i always when someone ‘tracks’ a car that has no way to handle the stresses and heat it puts on a car.

Ha. a few years ago, if someone had said ‘toyota discovered the secret sauce to mking a reliable, fast and relatively inexpensive sports car by partnering with bmw’ many would have said “Seems legit”

the C7Z was cheap, the problem is you had to complete the engineering yourself with an assortment of aftermarket mods to fix its heat management. The price was too good to be true. That terrible job they did on the C7Z is why im really cautiously optimistic on the C8 on a completely new everything. Hopefully GM learned its lesson with the subpar job it did on the C7Z. GM needs this car to succeed because its losing the truck battle against Ram and the camaro is going to die. What else do they have?

I don't see how the two are competing for the same buyer. I think the Corvette is a step above a Supra which is more for the Camaro crowd.

It will be interesting to see what happens. Right hand drive will expand the appeal. No hybrid or electric talk (for now) which I think is a bonus for Chevrolet.

Not exactly the same buyer, but pretty close. Both are two-seat sports cars with at least some Grand Touring aspirations (more in the case of the Corvette). The Camaro is a 4-seat pony car, which competes much more with the Mustang and Challenger.

Go check out Supra forums - ppl backing out already and getting C8.
Supra will need to bring out a Manual version now for sure and higher HP car is already confirmed.

C8 really takes it to next level with all the Customization thats available notwithstanding Performance advantages. The level of details on the interior, color options, seat options etc makes it feel like buying a true exotic.
Supra there is not much choices at all......

Are they really that close? Aside from both being two seats models, they are quite far from really being competitive with each other. I6 vs V8. Corvette will hit $125K + price tags with packages. Mid engine vs front. Supra lacks 20 years of current-past heritage. Unique custom aspirations from Corvette owners. Supra was always a four seater for what it’s worth.

New Supra will have an I4 in the future which should drop the price tag. This would put it more in line with Camaro money...

I see your POV of how the Camaro appeals to the pony crowd. But I have to respectfully disagree that a Supra is in the line with a Corvette. That said, I can see anyone buying a Vette, wanting to cross shop to a Supra.....I also just don’t see a Supra buyer willing to spend Corvette type dollars.
