Acura TLX PMC Edition
$50,945 - Deliveries begin on loaded sedan assembled like the Acura NSX
Acura unveiled the 2020 TLX PMC Edition sedan at this year's New York Auto Show along with the MDX PMC Edition Prototype. Both models adopt the same hand-finished build processes employed at Honda's Performance Manufacturing Center to create the Acura NSX. In the case of the sedan, that means a body-in-white pulled off the line at Honda's Marysville plant so that PMC technicians can install the interior, drivetrain, suspension, wiring harnesses, and electronics. After that, the TLX PMC undergoes the same quality control checks conducted on the NSX, including a dyno run and water leak test. The price: $50,945, which includes $1,995 for handling and destination.
In addition to the craftsmanship, the sedan combines two options that normally cannot be combined, the A-Spec and Advance Packages. They install the 290-horsepower 3.5-liter V6 and Super Handling All-Wheel Drive, the A-Spec's stiffer dampers and quicker steering ratio, plus sharper exterior components like the restyled bumper, larger exhaust tips, and gloss black roof panel. Comfort features include heated and ventilated front sport seats, leather and Alcantara seating, black leather steering wheel, black headliner, surround-view camera, heated rear seats, and Acura's 10-speaker ELS Studio audio system. Cosmetic go-fast changes are seen in the red instrument cluster and red accent lighting.
The whole package gets drenched in Valencia Red Pearl paint formerly exclusive to the NSX but making one special appearance here, the crimson infused with mica, metal flake and "nano pigments" for keener color. Black, 10-spoke, 19-inch wheels anchor the sedan to the road.
The U.S. will see just 360 examples of the TLX PMC, each one numbered with a plaque on the dash. Deliveries to dealers begin this month — each sedan transported in a single-car carrier. The entire production run is scheduled to take six months, after which we're told Acura will begin working on the MDX PMC.

I feel like this is a miss.... great idea, but somewhat wasted on the outgoing TLX. If they're hand building them, at least find a 6MT to throw on there to make it unique.
And they should be producing A-SPEC/Advance mixed content build on the normal production line. We were hoping for a A-Spec with Advance on the RDX, but there you're forced to choose as well. Ended with the Advance due to the adaptive dampers, HUD, etc.

1) Did anyone ask for a hand-built TLX?
2) Does anyone want to pay $50k for a TLX?
I wonder if Acura even thought about the most basic of questions and answers.

i think it's cool they've provided a package with ALL the best options, a drop dead gorgeous paint scheme, the SH-AWD is a great feature, but the NSX line stuff is fluff to me... it SHOULD be put together right regardless.
they're lacking in horse power though.
but it's a very nice car.
and anyone complaining about the price hasn't shopped much for new cars lately.

The TLX Type S is being benchmarked against a 354-hp Audi S4 and 362-hp Mercedes-AMG C43, so you can imagine the performance level the engineers are targeting.
All Acura is willing to say is that its new Type S models will feature a turbocharged V-6. The engine is likely derived from the 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V-6 fitted to the NSX supercar. Given the competition Acura is targeting for the TLX Type S, peak output will probably be somewhere around the 350-hp mark. The current V-6-powered TLX already boasts 290 hp.
Looking at the prototype, we can see widened wheel arches at the rear, quad-exhaust tips, and what appears to be a vented hood. Count on the car also coming with all-wheel drive along with uprated tires, suspension and brakes. There also appears to be an aggressive body kit hidden underneath all of the camouflage gear.

New TLX is featured inside Acura infotainment system. Even Honda has figured out how to do luxury gap on FWD sedan which leaves Lexus ES as sole survivor in area of strict FWD proportions.

Between my wife and I we have owned 12 Acura's and really enjoyed them. Thought I would stay with them forever. Moved to Lexus six years ago and no looking back. Something has happened to Acura/Honda regarding their reliability. The last two to three years we started having issues mechanically. Lexus is easy to track. Been #1 for eight years in a row in dependability by J D Power. We have not had one thing go wrong. Acura in 2014 was ranked 4th, 2016 8th, 2018 20th and 2019 26th. This is certainly an alarming trend. Would not matter the looks would never buy another Acura.

The paint on the TLX is gorgeous(pity the body guy who has to fix it/repaint it), the price is actually not that much when you consider it is a fully loaded TLX and the paint job alone cost over 5K but they should have still added a few more things to differentiate it from other TLX's like unique wheels, lower it, unique trim, etc.
