V8's are a beautiful thing. Something feels natural about having eight cylinders arranged together in a V, and the burly exhaust note is something just shy of magical. V8's used to be common place in cars from all over the world, but recently, they've become a bit of an endangered species, only being found in high-end models instead of casually inserted throughout a model range. Don't worry though, because these incredible V8's can be had for as little as $2,000.
LEXUS LS (TOYOTA 1UZ-FE)
The Lexus LS came out of nowhere for the 1990 model year and was the first proper V8 luxury car from a Japanese automaker in the US market. Toyota's 1UZ-FE DOHC V8 was truly incredible, with videos circulating the internet . The 32-valve V8 in the LS 400 made a respectable 250 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, which helped sail this barge from 0-60 in eight seconds. In 1994, power rose to 260 horsepower, and for the 1997 model year, power increased to 290 horsepower. In 1998, the four-speed automatic was replaced with a five-speed, and by the end of the second generation of the LS, 0-60 dropped to 6.2 seconds. This particular LS is a 1997 model and can be had for $2,500. The mileage is higher than I typically recommend for any used car, but if Matt Farah's Million Mile Lexus is any indication of this engine's durability, you'll see that is a downright steal.Note: follow link for more.
