Lexus has been so adamant about sticking to the NA V8 for its linear power and visceral enjoyment over a FI V6. It's almost hypocritical if their flagship sedan didn't have the 5L V8 standard, especially considering their brand new flagship coupe does.

I don't know why this site would continue feeding rumors like this. It's a little disappointing. They have absolutely zero facts to base that on.

In my opinion, they may offer a v6 version, but will not get rid of the V8 in their flagship. No way.

Agree. I find it hard to believe the LC will have the V8 while the new LS won't.

Just a dumb rumor and nothing more than "click bait," if such a site like this will stoop that low.

I'm tired of the rumors and concepts pictures. Just ready to see the next generation LS, craftsmanship, features, and technology that's available. Lexus made us wait long enough.

100% agree about the LC and LS sharing the engine- don't forget, the LC has the V6 as a hybrid option. My opinion is they will offer that on the LS as well (the V8 standard and the V6 in the hybrid.) Lexus is predicting they will sell 4,800 LC's with 20% of those being hybrid. It would be odd for the LS to not share the V8 for production streamlining, cost control, parts availability, etc. of an entirely new engine. I remember reading the V8 is a 10 speed automatic, so it is new in size (5.0L) and pretty much every other sense as well. I don't see them making an all new engine just to sell roughly 3,800 LC V8's...

As we can see from the teaser pic, I expect the LS to have a ton of design cues straight from the LC, which would be a good thing in my opinion. The rear end will be interesting to see- as that has some very hard lines on all new Toyota products, including the LC. I think they will soften it up a bit for the LS.

I think Lexus might unveil the new FI V6 in the upcoming LS, that will replace the NA 3.5L V6 that has been around for awhile. Make sense they will debut a new engine in their flagship. I don't think they will get rid of the 5.0L V8 though, it will just be the upgraded engine choice for the new LS.

I think a FI V6 LS would sell well...just look at the competition with a V6 option in their flagships, they seem to be selling fine.

I completely agree, the enthusiasts will want the V8 or people that actually know about cars, but the masses, they won't care or probably even notice.

I currently sell Genesis and the G90 offers a twin-turbo V6 or a naturally-aspirated V8. The V8 is such a better fit for this type of vehicle. It imparts an actual sense of luxury in acceleration. The only reason I can think of for a twin-turbo V6 is fuel economy or "tunability", but neither of those things should matter for a car like this. I really hope the new LS has a V8. I mean, it has to at least have a V8 if competitors like BMW are offering a twin-turbo V8 on the 750!

I am just happy we are getting an all new LS I can't wait to trade my 15 which just feels old fashion inside and out even when it was new. I think it's really great car but at times I did regret buying it as I have other new Lexus models and they just seem so much more modern then my 15 and they are lower models.

Well looking forward to this it be intresting to see what they do as far as design and all new features can't wait.
