you’re exactly right, privacy is expensive, and only going to get more expensive.

wait until apple’s gen 5 airpods are just implanted.

nice thing is they’ll double as hearing aids as well as health monitors, trackers, phonecalls, music, assistant, etc. sign me up...

insurance companies are one party keenly interested in the data. the other of course is the government. can you say automated reckless driving and speeding tickets?
My BMW transmits info back to corporate, which relays to my local dealer, as to when the conditions based maintenance system says I'm due for routine maintenance. I get an email and a call from my dealer when I'm within 400-500 miles of a service interval. And when I get there, they scan my key for up to the minute mileage data. Who knows what else is recorded and/or transmitted to BMW?

Exactly. I wonder if there will be some sort of gov't intervention that requires car manufacturers to disclose to consumers what data is collected, stored, and shared (and with whom).

I'd be surprised. The amount of data collected on each individual on a daily basis is astronomical. Why single out auto makers for govt regulation? EZ Pass has been collecting data on your movements for over 20 years.
