Buying first lexus
TO START SORRY IF THIS THREAD IS ALL OVER THE PLACE. TOO MANY IDEAS AT ONCE!
In the process of selling my 2011 BMW 328i to purchase my first Lexus.
I've done my research and decided it was the way to go in comparison to a Toyota, Honda, and Acura.
Just wanted some ideas as where to start and what are some of the need to knows about the make and models.
some general questions I have is where to start? ES, LS, GS or maybe any other suggestions someone may have.
I was driving a GS400 and loved it until I drove once upstate new York and filled up twice
an idea of what I am looking for:
-considerate amount of power
-decent amount of space (I still have to think about the family)
-room for modification (im not going crazy)
-and overall bang for my buck$$
-I can talk for days so if you want to drop some images and don't mind me picking your brain for advice shoot me an email I don't mind (amalachi2344@gmail.com)
if I am in the wrong type of forum for these inquiries feel free to let me know, until then I am going to shop
around and see where I land. Thanks!

Honestly, sounds like an ES or GS would be right up your alley. The IS is similar in size to your 3-series, but if you are looking for more room but similar driving characteristics, the GS would be better-suited for you as a family-friendly car. The ES would have even more space but sacrifices dynamics - it's a bit soft in comparison to the IS or GS.
CPO GSs can be had in the low $40,000 range, or even lower if you find a good deal.

Having driven the mentioned models,
-considerate amount of power.....power to size....GS
-decent amount of space (I still have to think about the family)....size alone...LS...ES...GS in that order.
-room for modification (im not going crazy)...GS...modded ES and LS will be tacky
-and overall bang for my buck$$....cant beat ES.
last I checked LS, GS are direct injection, ES is not.
GS will be the most responsive to throttle and driver feel...will probably be the most thirsty.
LS will be the plushest ride of the 3.
ES will likely last the longest, LS then GS in that order.
GS will probably be the least comfortable of the 3.

I have a 05 Acura TL right now and will be passing it to my dad in the next few months. I've been eyeing for a CPO Lexus IS 300 AWD with the F sport. I want a smooth ride that gives a good amount of luxury features. Being said, I tend to buy it and drive until the wheel falls out. I am worried about the digital LCD screen will not last that long. To anyone on here, is that a legitimate concern at all?

Fear not - it's a TFT screen. TFT displays have been in cars for years. It should last a long time. Especially considering the IS 300 AWD F Sport is still a relatively new car on the market.
