2021 Genesis GV80
I may definitely have a slice of cake with the next G80 AWD....or even the present one, depending on when they replace it.
I don't buy much of that argument....although I did say earlier that I agree some secrecy is probably needed in the early time-frame. While not everything can be done after dark, if it were that critical a matter for the manufacturers, they would do more testing at night, when it is much harder to get spy-photos. Notice how the body-wraps are usually colored black, which is almost impossible to photograph at night.
Hiding these cars is big business, photographers make big money from spy photos.
Lots of money is spent on these new platforms and the companies need to keep things under wrap so that they can go tests and such.

Unless it's your project, they can do whatever the heck they want. If you want to make a car and keep it in plain sight then do it. Otherwise they have every right to hide it, plain and simple
Yes, that's true, but ever hear of the old saying..........."What's legal isn't always prudent"? If I had a dollar for every dumb or questionable decision an auto manufacturer made (even if legal), I'd be richer than Donald Trump LOL.

Besides, if people don't really care, as you claim, then why hide it in the first place? Not much is actually gained from it.
Anyhow......going past the disguises, when the GV80 does finally debut (apparently late in 2019), it will be interesting to see who actually buys or leases it.....and/or whether or not it takes away sales from other upmarket/premium-class SUVs.
Anybody want to guess or discuss what other SUV brand(s) could be affected the most, and why?....although that might be a topic for another thread.

I agree...at least with any serious worries. But the GV80 is going to expand the image of Genesis (which, before, was limited to sedans), and maybe get more people into the showroom. And the smaller GV70 is (supposedly) also on the horizon.
i know that's what you want, but there's no way of knowing.
if it's
- technologically superior in some ways
- costs a whole bunch less
- rides and drives at least as well
- and remember it comes with free maintenance...
it will make a dent.
