I think a more neutral color would age much better.

The color of the wood depends on the year. Pre-refresh 02-04 cars had the reddish wood with any of the three interior colors, black, grey or tan. Post refresh 05-06 cars had the blond birds eye maple with the grey or tan interior and kept the red for the black. Both look dated now.

I'd take ether of those two 4Gen ES interiors over the ones the ES is using now. They're just not using enough wood today, probably because of cost-cutting. The 4Gen....now THAT was an interior. ;)

I think your viewpoints are out of touch with modern design. Yes, interior was nicely built, but the design is dated big time. IMO. I just looked up the wood in your buick, it's just lovely in color and design.

What do any of these posts about tire ratio, ride quality, etc have to do with keeping cars 15 years or more?

I think this thread is close to being closed.

The lower profile the tire is the more likely you are to trade your car in. That's all I've got.

I agree 100%. Nice at their time, it was actually a REALLY nice interior for the money but out of date today.

As for wood, the 2019 ES has wood all the way around the cabin and all the way along the doors...how much more wood can it have?...

I'm not concerned if my opinions are considered "trendy" or "in style" or not. I call it like I see it., whether others consider it "modern" or "dated".

See......that's just my point. Unlike some people, I don't look at things in terms of what's in style or not. Some things looked good 15 years ago....and still look good today. Here's arguably the most classic example......the 1964 Mustang. People still go bonkers over it today.

Thanks. It's not real wood, but IMO, in some ways, is better than real wood, which can deteriorate over time. And, of course, it does not require chopping down trees.

Faux wood is fine with me. Doubt anyone on here can tell the difference.

Agree wholeheartedly. That gen ES had wood around the gauges for Pete's sake, they really went the extra mile with that one. Lexus interiors were especially impressive in the late 90s through early to mid 00s. That car blew the competition away with its interior. Performance and looks (pre refresh at least), not so much.

Big difference between a classic mustang and a Gen 4 ES300 lol
