First step away from ICE - picked up a Model 3
One observation about the current Model 3 situation is the oddity that that inventory is piling up but they still can't build the $35K model that the masses are waiting for. Yes, it's because Tesla would actually lose money on these, but how long can they go along just building these overpriced ones. The idea that you can spend $80K on a compact-midsize sedan is nuts, although most are around $50-60K. I do find the 3 compelling but not for more than $35K.
Can you imagine the sales if that $35K one arrived and could meet full demand?
^^ It's like a great surprise
My detailer pulled it off and mentioned that the Tesla sells a wheel cap & lug cap kit for $50. My wife likes the pie pans though so I left them on

Only in Canada
Still $50 on the US site. Although, Tesla is pretty bad at keeping accessories in stock. I might just put in an order in case my wife changes her mind on the wheels

I had a chance to have dinner with some friends of mine this weekend who have had their Model 3 for quite some time. There's was one of the first ones delivered here.
They've really enjoyed it. In fact, they'd like to get another. They've taken trips, and used Autopilot a lot. Range has not been an issue, and they haven't had any quality/build issues, so that is good.

A Model 3 driver at the office here has chosen to show off his/her rims, and I applaud them. They have the gray paint color as well, which matches the wheels. They aren't bad-looking base wheels at all - though the aero covers are not attractive to me.
yes, when i got my model 3 i took off the wheel caps pretty quickly. car looks better without it and i don't think the air dynamic has changed much.
but i am still too cheap to pay that 50 bucks so i am running bare lug nuts and no center caps

Congrats to OP and henry too.
No wonder my brother in law says the "rim underneath" looks cool when he lost one of his pie plate in the rain.
.
The center cap on the pie plate is not removable?
You can always paint the lugs black

there are cars i would really care but then they seem to carry a few more digits in their price tags
my past 3 cars have been just a daily from A to B so honest i don't really care about putting any extra money in the car. the only thing i did was to put in dash camera. my past two cars i think i washed them for total of 4 or 5 times at most?
