Here's my quick 3 month review on my new Q60 RS400 AWD, which I got to replace my old Q50. It is exactly what I expected to be and more, especially in the acceleration department where I am almost hitting 10 second quarter miles!
Good : VR30DDTT engine is a beast, especially modded and tuned! Handling finally on par with the Germans standard models.
Bad : Limited aftermarket selection to date with most based on the Q50. Still not a true M3 competitor, track wise.
Summary : Q60 RS400 is the real deal, especially when modded!
Notes:
Exterior :
Interior : Real carbon fiber trimming! Real perforated aniline leather seats! Again, this is what i expected in the Q50 all along, but could only get in the Q60 oddly enough.
Handling : Light years better than my Q50, inspiring a lot more confidence
Acceleration : With mods, I am hitting 11.17@124mph 1/4 mile times! Yes, the VR is a beast and is unleashed with a tune and the fuel to support it! A few more mods and I'm in 10 second territory!
Overall : This is what I wanted in the Q50, but unfortunately it was more catered to daily driving luxury crowd, as opposed to a real GT car like the Q60 is.
What made you choose the Q60 vs another turbo car like the RS3 given similar price points? I think the RS3 is much faster modded with similar interior sizes.
Same weight and class as RCF, but the numbers are much better. I am not a big fan of the rear (what's with the trend of non-functional vents), but the front definitely looks great.
They look great, much better in person, the more I see them the more I like them, my dad was possibly thinking of one or a RC350, how is the interior quality compared to the RC350? Any word on tuning the turbo's and any success stories. I have been thinking you could get the 300hp version and then just have it tuned to more then 400hp and maybe save some money over 400hp version since they have basically the same engine/trans.
Out of Curiosity which Q50 did you have? The Q50 Red Sports obviously have the same engine and are lighter. It shouldn't be that dramatic a difference other than the seats and looks of the car. There's a few people with Q50's hitting 500 WHP with E85.

The RS3 is almost $70,000 when you add a few options. They also don't give discounts and their lease prices are ridiculous. You can lease a Q50/60 for a little over $400 a month vs. an RS3 that will run you close to 900 a month
LOVE LOVE LOVE the rear and 3/4 views of the Q60. Infiniti makes some beautiful cars, and they lease really well. I find it surprising I don't see more on the road. Oh well guess that makes yours just that much more special.

How is the Q60 handling light years ahead of the Q50? Don't they both share the same suspension and steering?
Car is stunning on the outside for sure especially out on the streets; I saw one on the street a few months ago and it looked stunning in motion. However, I just never cared for Infiniti's interior or the brand itself. This car is the bargain champ but I will still take a 2019 RC350 F-Sport next year over this in-spite of the RC's lackluster performance.
Great review. This design is such a looker in the street. Lovely interior as well.
Thanks - I've always liked the looked of the Q60 as well....a lot more subtle then an RC with classic GT proportions.

I strongly considered the RS3 as well, but as Kense noted, Audi's, particularly RS3's dont lease particularly well. And for a toy i may not keep long term (still looking at the Zupra), the Q60 was perfect for me with its combination of looks, power, and reliability.

I've been eyeing the IS-F/RC-F for years, and been waiting for Toyco to put in a proper turbo engine in or put the car on a massive diet. Unfortunately, neither has materialized.

Interior wise, I think the Lexus is still a step above Infiniti with better materials, quality, and design. And yes, you can get the 300hp base version and still tune it to 500whp as well! I wanted the RS400 version for the added features and luxury amenities. People are have started running new turbos now, with the most prominent (AMS) getting 800WHP and running flat 10s already (still issues with transmission controller cooperating).

I had an almost identical Q50 RS400 AWD previously. Power-wise they are identical, but handling wise, it is very different. And yes, I know people are on 500WHp with E85, as I am one of them.

Thanks, and it is good not be compared to an Altima! :X

The sportiest setting on the Q50 is about the softest suspension setting on the Q60. The extra chassis rigidity combined with the different valving takes a lot of the sloppiness out of the steering and handling on the Q60.

Thanks! I am a die-hard Toyco person, but I can't fathom buying a sports car, and using an underpowered engine from a decade ago. I'm sure you'll like the face-lifted RC350 though, as it looks much better than before.
800HP, man that is incredible, never knew that was possible. Enjoy in good health bud. Who knows maybe i may change my mind in 7 months lol. There was a time when I could never imagined driving a Lexus. Look at me now, abandon BMW for a Toyota lol...
