Hi everyone!

I'm Jeff Teague and I'm the salesperson who sold Mike his 2008 Tacoma that now has 1.2 million miles on it. I'm the one who made this video. I believe all of this told in the video to be 100% true and factual. It's great to be here!

I have a Toyota-related YouTube channel called "toyotajeff in raleigh" where I have over 250 Toyota videos.

Nice to meet you all...

Jeff

No offense, Jeff, but some people also believe in the Tooth Fairy. If you want to keep selling Toyotas, you'll have to come up with something a little more credible than that.

Hey Marshall!

Thanks for the comment! What parts of it do you not believe? Maybe I can clarify if you like. I don't make one single one of my videos that have lacked credibility

If you knew this man, you'd know he wouldn't fib about anything. Mike's a pretty humble, honorable dude!

Welcome toyotajeff ! And thank you for chiming in. Are you sure if the odometer is in miles and not km? Its pretty hard to believe that the transmission is still original, most will develop at least a leak at this high of a mileage. I will be happy if you can arrange and do a through under-body inspection by a mechanic and then make another video about this truck with detailed info.

If I'm wrong, I'm wrong, but sorry......I just don't buy some of those claims, especially that of 700K on a set of factory plugs. Even the best platinum plugs aren't designed to last much more than 100K miles, much less 700K.....and sometimes, by then, the threads are so burned into the block that the techs have to drill them out and re-thread the holes, using anti-seize compound. If you don't believe me, you can ask any competent Service-Tech or Advisor, including those in your own shop.

John341, BTW, made an interesting point about the mileage possibly being in km instead of miles, but, even then, those claims are quite a stretch.

You make a good point. The timing belt, water pump, spark plugs, etc all needs to be replaced at around the 120k mark.

Thanks. I don't want to be rude to a new poster (perhaps I was, and, if so, my apologies), but I simply can't believe some of those claims myself. Even heavy-duty truck diesels used in the big-rigs and their super-tough engine-blocks, which are designed to go the better part of a million miles, need at least a couple of overhauls to make that kind of distance. New rings, bearings, and valves are installed.

You can tell the odometer is in miles because the speedometer is a US spec (show's MPH not KPH).

This specific engine is used all over the world and it has been pretty stout. Also this engine does not have timing belt rather a chain. With right oil, this engine is also know to go well past 250,000 Miles with minimal maintenance all over the world.

I thought it was possible to change it using tech-stream, even though the speedometer is in MPH. That's the only reason i mentioned it.

Also, regarding the Spark plug. Our CR-V still has the original Plugs at 155,000 miles, some times with good gas and oil changes these plugs do last 200,000+ miles before any noticeable difference imo. But 700k on spark plug is still hard to believe.
