Default Newbie looking for someone in Missouri

Hey everyone my name is Preston,
I'm from Paducah, KY, active duty air force stationed up in New Jersey. Im currently deployed in the UAE and am in the process of finding/buying an '08 GS350. Prior SC300 owner, currently on my second miata and am tired of the little car life.

There's an '08 GS350 at the Jefferson City Honda dealership with 80k miles, looks clean in pictures, etc. Im looking to finance and personally feel sketched out financing a car i havent seen in person. But its been a chore finding a car more local to my family.

So im looking for help, if anyone in the area could help out by checking the car out for frame rust, minor blemishes, etc... Only reason I ask is the fact the cars prior home was in Chicago as a corporate car.

If this is the wrong place to post i apologize.

Cheers,
prez3gs

Welcome to CL. And Thank You for your service to the country. I'm on the East Coast and can't directly help you at the dealership, but here is (apparantly) the car you are talking about. It is an '08, AWD, with 88,700 miles on it....so whoever quoted you 80K was off a little. It is gray with black interior. They are asking $12,780, which is in KBB range for that vehicle and mileage in excellent condition.

Looks good on paper, but I will caution on one thing.....AWD-equipped 3rd-Generation versions of the GS are one of the very few Lexus products that Consumer Reports ever rated below average in reliability. I don't necessarily agree with everything CL says, but their reliability data is usually pretty accurate.

I appreciate your reply, someone actually reached out on my inbox and is visiting the dealership this weekend to check it out for me.

Good news. Let us know if you go ahead with it. Good luck.

I was in the USAF WAY back in the day. I was in for 4 years. How about you?
