Thinking of 08 Gs350 with High Mileage
Hey guys, so my friend is finally letting go of his 1GS and wants to move up to something nice. He has his eyes set on getting a 3gs but doesn't want to to spend too much on the monthly payment so he's looking at lowered priced cars. Anyway..
He found an 08 Gs350 with 170k miles, black on black like he wants, for about 11,999. Do you guys think this is a good deal and should he be worried about the mileage? He has a daily for work and life if he ever needs it and just wants the GS350 for a weekend car and a project VIP car.
Let me know what you guys think. Thanks and looking forward to your advice and input.

Depending on the area I would keep looking. I'm seeing 07-08 gs350 for that price with 100k miles in my area. Worth investing a grand or two more for something with less miles.

We're in NorCal. The only real requirements are that the car has to be a 2008+ and has to be black and black interior.

I guess what I mean is, would this car have a ton of potential problems with this mileage? I know my IS350 is a pretty reliable car and heard of many going over 200k easy. And seeing as how the Gs350 has the same engine I was wondering if it should be the same for the most part...

The gs350 is a reliable car as long as it has been maintained .Some things to look for to avoid issues later is to replace the water pump. They tend to fail at or over 100k miles. Another thing is get transmission fluid changed out. Lexus states it's a lifetime fluid but a lot of people do drain and fills as preventive maintenance. What I was referring to in my previous post was that for the money you could get a lower mileage car.
