i agree, the media always has to put Musk and Tesla on blast. a lot of people don't like him; those against self driving cars, dealerships, oil companies, automotive suppliers, flat-earthers (lol, he filmed a round earth when SpaceX launched the falcon V rocket) to name a few

Tesla stock is good to flip. I wouldn't invest in Tesla though. The stock value is inflated.

It's a big deal if Tesla AutoPilot was involved. But I have a feeling it was just a kid showing off the acceleration with a lead foot.

Because Tesla calls their driver's assistance package Autopilot and with such branding there is a big bag of responsibility they have to carry and rightfully so.

That's a good point. Tesla markets their driver's assistance as "autopilot". It tricks people into thinking the car can do more when it can't.

So it's confirmed, this crash was caused by autopilot.

+1 on a link. a quick google and nothing came up. looks like both the NTSB and NHTSA are investigating now.

This was a 2014 model, so no Autopilot.

That's the point, people go straight to talking about autopilot before knowing any facts.

The problem in the video seemed to revolve around "supercharging". That's where they lost me.....I'm not sure just how you can "supercharge" an electric motor. It's not like a gas engine, where you force additional fuel/air mixture into the motor with a belt or exhaust-driven compressor. An electric motor can only use so much current, produce so much power, and if you try to overload it with too much voltage, can maybe overheat and cause a fire.

"Supercharger" is the name Tesla gave to their charging stations. They provide a relative quick charge and until recently were free to use for car owners.
