Thats because E65 was the worst 7 series ever, and an utter pos in general. I had a 745, worst car ever. The new M5 is in a whole other league.

Thats why they went through all the trouble of developing AWD system for this new M5 so it can put down the power.
Car and Driver just got it to do 2.8sec which was the quickest time ever for any sedan.

Yes, but my point is that they could have done far over this 600 hp figure if they wanted to. This engine is 10% larger than both MB, Porsche and Audis recent V8 models. I know that they underrate this kind of engines, but if they wanted to win the hp and torque number both on paper and in reality BMW has the best opportunities of them all. That includes the massive 6,6 V12, even if its not a true M car.

doesn't really matter to me who wins at this point... as far as i'm concerned, i have all the car i'll ever need with these two

even as someone born in the early 90s with a jailbroken iphone who minored in computer science, the cars of today just have too much going on in them for me. i also just don't love the new E-Class exterior styling, too bloated and bulging for my taste.
