Congrats!!! Great grab, and definitely a solid buy even with your ADM since it has those added items. An absolute performance bargain at sub $40K.

They do not hook for sht though. My buddy just got one of these last week. He's a Honda nut (has like 7 clean built Hondas). We too k it out for a good while. And it spins first three gears with those rubber band tires. He already has a track wheel setup on order.

Would it be possible, whether you are 16, or 95, to get in the car, start it up, start driving, and say, gosh, this s****. I hate this, my leg is getting tired and the car won't stop communicating everything about the road to me. I really wish I never bought this car. hahahahahaha dang must be sweet!!

p.s. if you told me as of 12/31/18, cars like this will never be available, ever, again, I'd run out and buy one. I know the clock is ticking and at some point fun cars will be extinct, but I hope there are a few years b4 that happens...

I'll be completely honest. In the first half mile driving off the lot I questioned whether I could really live with the car and what I was getting myself into. Road noise was crazy (no dealer will really let you test drive one to find out) and the ride was rough (although supposedly the most streetable factory suspension in the hot hatch segment)! But by the end of the day i knew I was going to enjoy owning it and learned to deal with all of the new sensory experiences Lexus really spoils you with the ride/comfort factor, and this is my first "sport" car.

I will be thinking about getting smaller diameter wheels when i wear the tires. TireRack already lists some Hankook Ventus V12s $150 each in the stock dimensions so replacements arent crazy expensive anymore. THey're not the best tires for the dry but they are inexpensive.

I got to sit in one at cars and coffee near me. It is an awesome car. For a hatchback I like the Golf R better because it is more subtle but the CTR is a better car. The only issue I have is paying over MSRP, I just can’t do it out of principle regardless of the add on BS they put on there. That’s just me though.

Agreed. If it weren't for my GS developing problems I probably would have waited for the prices to come down. Heck I'd probably never get rid of the GS until it died. I had a friend in another state in line for a CTR at MSRP but they didn't have the color I want and had no idea when one would come in. It'd still add almost $1k to ship it from there to CA too..

The OP must be blind, considering he bought the Medussa of cars

Seriously though congrats, not my cup of tea style wise, but I've always liked the hot Honda models from the 90's/early 2000's. This one really seems to turn it up to 11 from the reviews I've read.

Admittedly, the styling is not for me. The Golf R would be. But we are so severely limited today, if we want a vehicle to be about driving. And from everything I've read, seen online, that's what this car is about.

(look at a simple Mazda 3, it had bi xenons a few years ago, no more--decontenting squared)

No lie, there may come a point in the next 5 years, that if we want a vehicle that is about driving first, we're going to have to take 50k out of the bank and buy that vehicle, because they will be gone, at least for the ordinary person.

A deciding factor was my dog. A hatchback would be way more useful than an even smaller sedan than the GS. Also, for the price of a clean used ISF from the 2011+ range I could spend a tiny bit more and get a brand new car complete with warranty. At least this is my thinking and of course other people may have different preferences. I was also not keen on rebuilding an ISF transmission should it ever go bad and would rather go back to driving a manual instead.

Welp. This weekend the price was right on the Type R of my dreams. # R-07045. It is definitely no Lexus in ride, NVH, and features. But damn--I cant wait to get past the break in period.
You''ll love the Type R. I was in the same boat looking at 4 door sport cars and went with the ISF since I wanted something between my S2K and CT in term of comfortableness but different in driving dynamics . Honestly if I didn't have the S2K, I would have gotten the type R.

I just have a hard time wrapping my head around paying $45,000 for a damn Golf. Much rather have a loaded Mustang GT or Dodge Challenger for that price.

But yes, I agree our choices in cheaper performance cars now days sucks and is probably going to get worse. Especially in that under $30,000 bracket, you have like maybe 4 choices IMO where you don't feel like you got the shaft(aka buying a 4 cylinder Camaro or Mustang)
