To me, it makes sense. For all NA engines and non hybrids, they follow the displacement of the engine. For those that have turbo or are hybrid, then you get the disassociation because it is supposed to be the power equivalent of the NA engine. Im guessing this is strictly in response to Mercedes, which uses the "300" nameplate for all their 2.0 turbos. An IS200t sounds "lower end" than a C300. In fact, the mercedes sounds 100 points better

Doesnt the NA 3.5 in the IS300 AWD kind of blow that theory?

I guess the IS300 3.5 is a one off atmospheric rarity.

Mercedes e300 uses 2.0T even with awd

friend has one and thought it was a 6 cylinder...
