Bro and I picked up a 2013 Viper GTS Laguna couple weeks ago. With the news of the viper being discontinued I got more interested since the prices were pretty down from new. After I found out that so far only 2900 Gen5 2013+ made, had to get one. We bought if from Los Angeles and brought it to the Great State of Texas. Only had 3100 miles on it and 1 owner. Car is pretty much fully loaded except for track package: GTS, Laguna package, 18 speaker Harman Kardon, car cover, factory stripes. Car is ridiculously fun to drive and everyone stares at you when you go by. Planning to get paint protection film and tint soon so we can drive it next weekend to the IMSA Weathertech race at Circuit of the Americas in Austin.
Great pick up, im sure prices on these will be rising significantly in next 5years.
Provided the economy isn't in the tank again. Hard to say, but I do think stocks are currently over-valued and real estate values in some cities is growing at an unsustainable rate. Sports cars/collector cars(especially Porsches IMO) are also really high right now, same thing happened to RARE muscle cars back in the early/mid 2000's, then their values cratered.
viper community is really tight knit due to the rarity of the car. Excited to be a part of it. I drove it around on sunday with gorgeous weather, breaking necks, kids staring and pointing at it. Houston group was going to do a cruise to Tyler TX to meet up with the Rauh family that has 83 vipers in 5 garages. But I'll be at CotA for the IMSA race
Congrats, nice find and rare car. Monster engine and monster torque from what I remember in a 1998 Viper ACR I once ridden in. Can't imagine the 3rd gen engine with more power.
Great pick up, I saw your posts on the VOA forums. I'm a long time Viper owner and really wanted a '14 T/A but it just wasn't in the cards this time around with my young kids. Vipers are polarizing cars, you either get it or you don't and is a very niche vehicle. They have their nuances and people that think they are livable like a Corvette are sometimes disappointed but once you understand what the car is all about you really appreciate it. Hope you enjoy it.
what drew me was:
classic gen 2 look
low production numbers, so far only ~2900 2013+ gen 5s made
imminent discontinuation
if it ever came back it probably wont be like this
price has dropped drastically even on barely used ones
very reliable and simple to maintain
one of the last great manual cars. The current greatest being the Viper ACR
high tech build quality - CF hood, roof, decklid, magnesium dash frame, forged pistons, connecting rods, crankshaft, composite body panels. GTS Laguna package has the same leather they use in ferraris (Sabelt) and full leather dash, alcantara headliner
I could not even think of another car built like this in the mid $80s and has these qualities

You forgot to add that it probably has one of the best paint jobs you can get from almost any car manufacturer out there. Prefix's work is second to none.
Knew they were hand painted but upon reading further didnt realize the amount of time involved in it, nearly 150 hours with stripes. Getting bumper, hood, headlights, mirrors clear braed this weekend, perhaps should consider the full car now
