Quadrifoglio will be AWD, so 0-60 won't be far behind that of the smaller Giulia. Definitely a looker and one of the hotter debuts at the LA Auto Show today.

Default Alfa Romeo Stelvio

I have to say this is an appealing car. Puts out more power from a 2.0t (280hp/306lb-ft) and is RWD biased. The Quadrifoglio trim level is even hotter, coming with a 2.9L TT V6 that puts out 505hp! Only downside I see to it is that it's a FCA vehicle. I haven't read many good things about them when it comes to the reliability department.

Yeah, that was my first impression, too...an Italian CX-5. With the current SUV boom, apparently Alfa is serious about trying to sell it in the U.S.....they displayed it at the L.A. show.

It's a CUV, this is what CUVs look like

Stelvio is a great choice for those who can't afford a Macan

Bit's right, though. Except for the classic Alfa grille, much of the styling does remind one of the CX-5.

We'll see.

The greenhouse is dated and low-rent. Actually, most of the body and all the details are low-end. Doesn't have any special presence to it and could pass as a Mazda. This is what they spent years and millions developing? Sad.

Looks like Fiat got a good deal at the Mazda store -- you know, the buy-10,000-Miatas- we-throw-in-5000-CX-5s type of deal. Or the Fiat folk went wandering off with their smartphone cameras during an extended lunch break at Mazda HQ while negotiating for the Miata.

Well, ever since Mazda got cut loose from Ford, they've had too look for financial help wherever they could find it. Heck, for that matter, even Fiat's Sergio Marchionne (and all of FCA itself) is looking for some other corporation to join itself to....they've already asked GM, and got a no.

Looks nice, Alfa always produce beautiful cars.

So is this same size as CX5? If so, 505HP in this little thing would make it a rocket!

Yes, the Alfa grilles manage to look distinctive, without being gaping and looking like something about to scoop up a ton of dirt LOL.

From the images, it appears to be about the same size as a CX-5, but camera-lenses, depending on the angle, can sometimes distort things a little. That's why, if possible, it's often best to actually go look at something in person.

Agreed, 500 HP in a CX-5 would definitely get it out of its own way.

Lol my thoughts exactly. This is a BMW X3 competitor, in non-Quadrifoglio trim it's going to look like a standard crossover. They need the volume.

For the record, the "hips" on the Stelvio and stance prevent it from looking too much like a Mazda in person.
