What a stupid article. Almost as bad as those click-bait articles from Consumers Reports.

Maintaining a car and repairing a car are not the same. I wish these idiots would factor out the repairs versus how much regular manufacturer recommended maintenance will cost.

A decent article overall, but it overlooks two important things. First, what is considered maintenance and what is considered repair (the two are often not the same, especially on regular wear-items). Second, different vehicles within one particular brand or nameplate can sometimes show very large differences in reliability. A good example of that is Acura, where, according to Consumer Reports, some Acura products are quite reliable......others have dropped to below average.
