So I got ticketed for speeding last week, they towed my car 7 day impound, get it back today wash my car and theres 2 holographic lookin things on my back plate.. both say BSC1.. can barely see it but from certain angles very visible.. looks like its police code or something..

Anyone get something similar on their plate after speeding?

 

How fast were you going that you got towed? You are likely facing worse charges than simple speeding.

Honestly though it just sounds like a storage code.

 

(judgement free question) how fast were you going that you got impounded? i'm just curious so i know where to draw the limit lol.. but no i've never gotten anything put on my plate after a speeding ticket.

 

probably a secret tracking identifier that they will never acknowledge and will deny when questioned, so the next time they see you they know you've been busted before.

 

Call the police and/or the impound yard and ask what it is.

 

It may (?) also be something that doesn't allow the license plate to be covered with the anti-camera film that is often advertised, for resistance to red-light and speed-cameras.

 

Are you certain it wasn't there before?

I ask because our license plates (Washington State) have a small, round hologram on them, towards the middle. I believe it says something like WA and a number. It's very subtle and can be difficult to spot unless the light hits it just right and you are looking at it from the right angle.

If its a sticker that you ARE 100% SURE was not on there before this whole sordid affair, take it off. Razor blades and goo gone will get it off with no fuss.

I don't think cops write on your plates. I would say it was the impound yard for identification purposes? I would definitively call the yard to ask.

 

Those things are part of Texas plates, and can be seen in daylight from certain angles. I think it works like a hologram on bills or credit cards, making them difficult to counterfeit.
