Really letdown by Jaguar...
I agree that cars like the new XE has a pretty "average" interior, but take a testdrive with the XE S and you understand where the budget was spent. Or like a friend of mine who is an BMW enthusiast since 20 years ago said : It drives like a BMW did before they became an old mans car. So he actually ordered one.
I think Jaguar will be the new "motor enthusiasts choice" in the future. The latest models ( XE and F type ) has both the driving dynamics and the engine sounds, no matter if it is the V6 or V8. I expect the F pace SUV to go the same way.

I've seen the Giulia at a couple auto shows now. Only the high-end vesion was on display, but it looks d*mn good. From photos however, the interior looks unremarkable and the car was delayed because it was "technically immature." Like all Fiat products, I don't have a lot of confidence it will be anything other than good to look at and nice to drive until it ends up in the shop.
Makes sense. This is the same reason why the Maserati Ghibli and Quattroporte, for example, are so compelling despite their sub-par interiors. The name plate, how snazzy they look, and being unique/rare still make them desirable despite them objectively not measuring up well to the German competition.

I only sat in the F-Pace since I'm the market for an SUV, and I was also underwhelmed by the interior. That said, they have great exterior designs, drive well and don't have the tremendous reliability issues of the old, wood-and-leather-covered models.

That's a good point to some extent............older Jags did have reliability issues, but a good number of them had been worked out while they were still doing the nice wood and leather interiors. The worst, of course, was the old Lucas electrical system.....which was simply awful.

The interior on my 2015 XJ is excellent - it draws a ton of compliments. The electronics are a little dated, but the driving dynamics, like all modern Jags, are superb. I saw an F Pace at one of the auto shows and that particular example actually had a nice interior. Still, I agree that the two compelling reasons to choose a Jag are driving dynamics and the design which for me are some of the best in the business. The F Type is the car that got me out of a 911.

I agree that the XJ's interior is excellent. It's clearly of a different generation though. These newest designs are far more plain looking. Also I owned an F-type too; that car was flawed but so full of personality it didn't matter to me at time of purchase. Then I realized I wasn't looking for a one dimensional toy (advantage 911). Not enough garage space.
