Default Lexus Tacoma

Just saw a video on the 2016 Tacoma. Amazed at the amount of Lexus tech filtering into the Toyota stable.
The Tacoma had Lexus direct and port injection. Allowing the engine to run in the Atkinson cycle for fuel efficiency.
The entertainment software/graphics package was a direct pick up from Lexus. Not necessarily a good thing.
The base speaker was JBL.
The Qi wireless charger was also a feature. Seems to work just as well as in the Lexus.
Lexus will need to up the ante significantly in the NX upgrade to keep providing a unique product.

There isn't really a luxury truck market. Ford tried it with a Lincoln truck, Chevy tried to make a Cadillac based Avalanche, and neither sold well.

A truck is meant to be abused, scratched, and beaten to hell and back. Few people are willing to do that to something that is luxury. Also, trucks are already 50-60k, a luxury markup to 70-80k would be laughed at.

I remember those two the Lincoln (Blackwood?) was pretty much DOA and the Caddy lasted a bit longer.

Well, what is a LX570 designed for? Seems to me that a LX is too nice to haul anything significant, or go off road.

I think a Lexus Tundra would work.

Mods......I think these two threads can be merged. They have a lot of similar content/discussion.
