What do you guys think? I've read a few comments about the rear being similar to the Benz E-350 and some have even mentioned the 3IS. I personally like the rear but feel the front is a bit 2012 Civic...

 

Safe design. It's handsome and will age well.

^^Agreed! I tried to get wifey to look at them but she wouldn't even consider. We didnt even test drive them. I kinda liked them but they were very proud of them though.

 

looks better than the camry and altima.

but i think the chrome on the grille is way too chunky.
Imagine what it will look like after years of getting pelted by rocks

 

If I was in the market for an affordable and reliable sedan that gets good gas mileage, without a doubt I'd pick a new Accord sport with a manual transmission. That car looks great and I've seen so many new Accords on the road too.

 

Decent facelift, but the thick, chrome bar at the top of the grille is just as offensive as Acura's shield.

Taillights look more expensive. Still too much suspension showing from the rear view.

What Honda needs to do is stop being so stingy with their option packages and colors. The Sport desperately needs a leather, nav, and sunroof option. Toyota has no problem at all moving out higher-optioned SE's.

 

If it has to look like some car it definitely reminds me of on purpose bland Passat.

But still miles ahead in classic looks department over Camry.

But still would never consider it over Mazda 6.

 

The Benz E actually copied the Accord's rear design, not the other way around

I'm surprised Toyota can keep selling the bland Camry when the handsome Accord and downright pretty Mazda 6 are competitors.

 

^ I was at the Mazda dealer yesterday, the 6 is a very handsome car. Its just a crying shame the only engine they offer is a 2.5 liter 4 cylinder with 185hp.

As for the "new" Accord, at least it isn't flat out hideous like it used to be a few years ago. Seems to be screwed together better than anything else at this price point by a good margin as well IMO, which would be my main reason for buying one over a new Camry(sorry Toyota but the build quality/interior isn't what it used to be).

 

I prefer the current pre-facelift design better. It's cleaner. I don't like face-lifts that tack on more chrome and things for the sake of distinction. Honda has often done this. And those directional wheels on the top pics are awful. I really hate that trend.

I like the Sport wheels on the bottom pix, but not the wheels in the top pix (those look like CRV Touring wheels). I'm not sure why they need that chrome grille like it's 1985.

Are those Jewel Eye headlights on the bottom version?

 

It's a Hyundai Genesis after they stole, copied and mixed the styling of the older Infiniti G-Sedan and BMW 5-series. Everybody's just stealing from everybody. Safe and good-looking nonetheless.

 

As far as I'm concerned, that's not even an issue anymore. With the number of cars that have been designed and produced over the years, it's becoming harder and harder to design ANYTHING nowadays that doesn't copy from SOMEBODY else. I figure, if it looks like somebody else, so what? The real issue is what you are getting under the skin.

 

Looks good but I wish they would offer a "blackout package" all that chrome is for the over 60 crowd IMO.

 

totally agree. an Accord with push button start, leather or at least letherette seating would be the perfect reliable sporty commuter car.
