I like the exterior, but personally find the interior to be hideous. Someone else already said it, but it looks like a 1979 updated interior. Hopefully that changes.

Lincoln is an irrelevant brand as is Cadillac. Let those two duke it out for who is least terrible.

Find me a luxury sedan over $60,000...even $55,000 that has a transverse layout that has had any success and we'll talk. We know it won't be like Audis because expensive Audis don't have a transverse layout.

There is no Lincoln buyer, they need to take buyers from other companies. Consumers of large luxury sedans, like me, are not going to buy a transverse FWD car.

DOA

I said it before the concept came out and I;ll still say it now.

Lincoln needs a rwd sedan, called the continental, it needs to have a coyote v8.

Anything short of that is a half hearted measure. Like the XTS. Lincoln needs to learn from others mistakes.

Want to see how well this will do? Look at the XTS, and the RLX. The XTS benefits from extensive fleet and rental car sales as will this, the RLX does not. And you see...500 units a year.

The XTS interior is impressive (much better than the DTS it replaces), and it offers the AWD traction the DTS lacked, but the underpinnings, suspension and wheels/tires IMO, are not flagship-grade in ride comfort or refinement. And, the one I drove had a higher-speed shimmy in the front end/steering wheel that the factory later acknowledged was a defect with a TSB.....not traceable to the usual sources of unbalanced or out-of-round tires.

Yeah I've never been impressed with the XTS either. That high speed shimmy has been a common problem on the older FWD Devilles and Sevilles as well. Its a design flaw in those cars as well, not a tire issue, as many owners griped about having that problem with the car under warranty and Cadillac not having a fix.

Not terrible but nothing special either, ultimately the pricing will decide if this succeeds or is just another Lincoln failure.

In that photo the wood does look glossy cheap. I personally feel the more natural finished woods look much better than the piano/high-gloss look. The real problem is that to remake a name in the luxury market you have to have some of your own ideas, can't just purely copy everything the other guys did 5 or 10 years ago. There is nothing about that interior that says different or special to me, and most certainly does not scream Continental, a new benchmark of luxury. Looks like a Buick interior.

Agreed. And lots of chrome, which really doesn't say "luxury" these days. It says "what luxury used to be".

I don't so much have an issue with the chrome. Chrome is coming back a little...and Chrome says "American".

Man that is dissapointing if that is really the production interior. Looks like a Ford Fusion interior with a Benz gear shift lever and some shiny wood trim.
