Question for Snow Belt Tesla Owners
My wife and I test drove a Tesla in December. She really likes the car but is paranoid about running out of juice. She never lets her gas tank get below half full.
I was curious in the winter with low temps robbing battery power anyway, and then needing to put on the heater which has to use a lot of power, what is the typical range.
Here in the Boston area we haven't gotten above freezing in weeks and many days and nights have been in the single digits. I've heard battery power is reduced by 50 to 60 percent in these temps. And since creating heat uses a lot power, that has to be a big additional drain.
If the car typically gets 260 miles on a full charge in optimal conditions, what does it get in these conditions?
