That's not always the case with every new model and if you've bought any vehicle from one gen to the next you'll know this to be true. Granted it's subjective, yet in my case not Lexus related, a second gen Toyota sienna 2006-2010 was a better vehicle than a third gen 2011-2014. Fortunately C/D and a few other magazines back me up and ranked it last among other family vans. But this has happened to a few car companies be it high end or vans, where for some reason they've gone backwards due to using cheaper parts, lack of reliability, fit & finish issues, etc to name a few. Bottom line? Newer isn't always better.

Thank so much for all the advises and replied. Honestly, I have been waiting for the NX to release for awhile I really like the NX but the space on the back seat so cramped we need the spaces. All the lexus lines up model only the RX is still the old style. Yes who know the 2016 RX will be better or not but I always like the new generation. I wouldn't mind buying a new RX2015 but Im not happy at all to buy a last year model. I have no choice to give my sister a car now that she doesn't have one. Therefore Im looking at the used 2013 as I posted above but if the price is so close to the new one then of course everyone would pay 5-6k more to get a brand new car. Having a hard time to make a decision. Hopefully I can find a used one soon or else I just bite my tongue to get the 2015 and live with it..

Lexuses are timeless. We just faced a similar situation over the summer, where my mom was in need of a new RX, but we couldn't wait for the redesign. She ended up with a beautiful silver 2013 with sport appearance package and couldn't be happier. There will always be new models and something better. There's no way to completely keep up with that curve. But at least with Lexus, every model they make holds their value and does not age quickly at all. You are safe. Get it and enjoy it.

Have you looked at any of the RX's competitors, or are you sure that's what you want? I agree with you, though. that there are a lot of things to like in an RX.....quality, refinement, smooth drivetrain, generally low noise level, reliability, AWD traction.

Anyhow, whatever decision you make....good luck. Let us know how it goes.

The prices negotiating so far for that 2013 drive out were $41,780 non CPO and CPO is $42,870.. I try to get it down to 39-40 k but not close yet.

Good example would be the Toyota Highlander and 4Runner. The previous body style was so much better ...not so box like.
