Default Any RX shoppers considering the Infinity FX35?

I've had RX300's and now this FX35.

Are these vehicles direct rivals?

P.S. And yes, this is a shamless plug to sell my truck.

[edit: please no ebay links to your auction]

I looked at both too. They're in the same price range but completly different cars. The main thing though I thought the lexus looked and rode much smoother

It all depends on what you want out of your vehicle experience. The FX 35 has more power and better handling than the RX; and if that's your main criteria, then you may be better off with the FX. If comfort and luxury are important, not to mention the RX does have decent power and handling, then I think the RX 330 is a much better value dollar for dollar.

I will say though the main deciding factor for me picking the RX was that I found the FX35 to be very uncomfortable. It only took one test drive with the FX for me to make my decision. The ride was extremely firm; forget about this vehicle if you have any kind of back problems. But I suppose that's the trade off for the better handling. I also felt the FX dash was too high (I'm 5'5") for me even with the seat in the highest position; add that to the poor rear visibility.. and this added a whole other level of discomfort.

Matter a fact, the only thing I enjoyed about the FX35 test drive was the 280 hp get up and go, but considering the extra gas cost (FX epa ratings 17/23 vs RX 330 rating 20/26) for that extra power, your excitement might be quickly dampened. Lastly, I thought the FX35 would be better priced than the RX 330, but it was not. The best quote I got on the FX35 (rwd with minimum package) came to almost 1000 more than what I paid for my RX (fwd with the premium package). Let's not forget that the RX will probably depreciate at a much lower rate than the FX. My 2 cents.

Atikovi:

Not sure why folks ask to compare the Lexus with the competition. Obviously, there are choices out there and this site will only provide you with bias opinions of the RX. Do yourself a favor and go test drive both vehicles, then make your decision. Sorry, not trying to be a wise guy, however in the long run, your opinion is all that matters.

i am sure the moderators will inform you that you are violating club rules by linking a for sale ad to your vehicle listed on ebay.

The best way to get exposure for your truck is to put up a for sale ad in the classified section with a price and description along with pictures. For sale to ebay links are a no no in this forum.

According to many automotive magazines they are being compared as direct rivals.

scooby doo:
If I am not mistaken he used to own an RX300 and now owns the FX35 and he is trying to sell the FX35.

Sorry, I would only own an Infinity long enough to sell it. Have a Nissan Pathfinder and it is a PoS.... and I would never have any dealings with that car brand again. Even upscaled garbage is still garbage.

Congratulations, this has got to be the oldest revived thread ever, in the history of the internet. 21 years. Thanks for the memories.
