the suppliers have revealed in the press that virtually everything will go back to touch screen
there is a reason "mice" are becoming extinct

you want the weight over the powered wheels to get max tractive force

And the S class has the disco light show Sounds gimiky, but looks great

how many F sport LS's have you seen on the road?

I can only laugh. Some people buy any explanation. I suppse The 911 is a failure because of its lifespan

Why did you post 5 times in a row?

Anyways, I've seen several F Sport LS's on the road.

What is wrong with the 911's lifespan?

You don't make any sense.

Tonight I saw a snappy looking LS F sport in front of me. White. Couldn't take a pick due to low light on the street

It's very clear that this thread has gone off-topic, even though this is most certainly not the primary thread for future LS discussion. No one seems to have noticed nor really even discussed how Lexus has been teasing the Tokyo concept...

Thank you bitkahuna, I look forward to what Lexus brings to the table, as regarding luxury, the LS is Japan's automotive ambassador to the world, if not all non-European brands at the moment. It may be the only contender to the S-Class, that truly can compete stylistically (not so for G11) and engineering wise. Apparently Australia does not get a new LS until 2018, so that gives away when to expect it.

Thank you SW15LS, it is just unfortunate that all of us will have to wait longer than we thought, as it definitely was pushed back. I think it might fall in line with when your lease ends at this stage, considering how farther out it appears to be. At least the concept will tide one over, on what to expect and reduce suspense and curiosity.

Post Lexus 'Progressive Luxury" Concept To Make Tokyo Show Debut

Lexus has published the first preview image of a new concept car, making its debut at the Tokyo motor show on October 28.

The brand calls the concept a car that ‘captures the company’s vision of progressive luxury’, but details beyond that are slim, with only an image of the concept’s headlight.

From this small image, it appears little of Lexus’ current design language has changed for the concept – the luxury firm’s signature twin-spar headlight is still present and correct, the lower element likely to form a daytime running light and the upper the main headlight unit.

The edge of the firm’s ‘spindle’ grille can also be seen, with sharp creases to both the bonnet line and the edge of the front wings. It’s a look we’ve already seen on the Lexus IS, NX, RC F and the recently-facelifted GS and GS F.

It’s also a look we’ve seen at the Frankfurt motor show, where Lexus first debuted the new RX crossover. That car will return to make its Japanese debut at the Tokyo show, shortly before its international launch at the end of this year and its UK debut in January.

The RX and new concept will join nine other models on the Lexus stand, including the GS F – you can read our review of Lexus’ M5 rival here.

We'll bring you the latest news on this concept and more in the run up to the show and from Tokyo itself. Head over to our full Tokyo motor show preview here, or find individual Tokyo show stories on our hub page.

The adjective "progressive" makes it sounds like something transitional, and in between the entry level and the top level, so I don't think it'll be the new LS/LC. Also, given the DRL being separated from the main headlight housing, it should be a sportier model (as seen only on the IS, GS, RC and NX). The mesh grille (which can be seen by brightening up the picture) means that it'll be an F/F-Sport model shown too.

So what is it? My bet will be on a midsize 4-door coupe to compete with the 6-series Gran Coupe.

If so, that may even kill the GS even more

Very interesting. Thought the front page crowd would think so too...
