This is the funniest thing I've seen in ages....here is what their CEO says. Its actually a good article, Jalopnik talks about how they usually get the same lame answers but here Infiniit's CEO was rather frank that this was a rebadge and an experiment.

Contemplating a youth- oriented premium compact in our future. Many doubters including me. Want to test concept in China, biggest youth premium market. Juke not sold there . Creates opportunity. Irreverent lifestyle car for hedonistic rebel. Significant upgrades to NVH and dynamic characteristics. Volume will be restricted, so we can't afford sheetmetal changes. Car is fun, funky and a hoot to drive. Spanks an A1, so no apologies will be offered. Dislike cross- badging as much as anyone. Probably more. But China- only test marketing exercise before we sink a fortune into an untried concept. Life isn't always easy. The end
I can't stop laughing

My bad I don't read all your posts it's great to see you correct youself and I'm happy you did some research on the difference between rebadging and platform sharing as I asked.

Thank you

Hmm no, I think you read every single one, since you have responded to pretty much all of them. But I think you selectively read, much like your selective fact checking. It's ok though, we all have our shortcomings I suppose

Default New Infiniti ESQ is a Posh-Badged Nissan Juke NISMO RS for China

The wraps are off Infiniti's new ESQ small crossover based on the pre-facelift Nissan Juke NISMO RS, which was made exclusively for China.

Since the Nissan Juke isn't offered in the PRC, Infiniti's brass chose the easy road with the ESQ, simply swapping the NISMO RS model's badges and front grille, while also modifying the colors, interior trim decor and equipment levels.

The funny thing is that, Infiniti didn't even bother to base the car on the most recently updated version of the Juke that was presented at the Geneva Motor Show this past March.

In China, the ESQ will be offered exclusively with a 1.6-liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol rated at 200PS (197hp) and of 250Nm, paired to a 7-speed CVT and standard all-wheel drive.

However, never underestimate the power of the Chinese car-buying public to surprise. Many of them don't think like we Americans and Europeans do.

Yes, the heated seats and white stitching can only hide the pleblian design and cheap plastics so much

The Chinese car-buying public, though, doesn't always think like we do. They have been known to surprise us. But, with this design, even that might be a stretch. We'll see.

Is this still the case? The last time I was there in May, Audi seemed to be the up and coming brand.
