I switched teams.
Well, I now have what looks to be a secure job at an accounting firm here in Vegas. Things are going well. I found an ok apartment that is only 5 miles from work. I decided it was time to go car shopping again.
So today I walked into a Honda dealership......
.....and bought a Ford

The car is a beautiful 2012 Fusion SE with 18,000 miles. It's got the 3.0 V6, 6-speed selectshift auto, Ford Sync, and is clean inside and out. I also like that the big grille is not chrome, but color matched. It drove beautifully, is well maintained, and had a clean carfax. Still has the bumper to bumper warranty.
I can't wait to pick it up tomorrow
My biggest issue now is finding insurance and getting time to register it. My OTD was below blue book, but it took some unkind words passed back and forth between the salesman and I. I had seen the ad online posted at X price, and while we were working out a deal they quoted me X + $1,000. I told them what I had seen online, and they had somebody in the back room log on and change the price. Unfortunately for them, the website was CarGurus.com which shows the history of price changes. They were NOT happy when I exposed their lie.

All I know is after I pick it up today, I don't really ever plan to go back there. It's not a Ford dealership, so there's nothing I'll need there anyway, and it is a good 30 minute drive from my house.

And try not to blow your new paychecks in the casinos.
Did you get the FWD or AWD version?...though, granted, the climate in Las Vegas usually doesn't include slippery roads. The Fusion and its Milan/MKZ twins, to their credit, have had a better-than-average reliability rating from Consumer Reports for several years, especially for the FWD versions.
Last, did you find a house or apartment at a decent price? The fast-growing nature of that town (and the high demand for real estate there) often means premium rents and mortgages.
As far as insurance goes (you seem concerned about finding it) first give GEICO a call at 1-800-841-3000...or USAA if you have any military time. I have found GEICO, over the years, to be generally the lowest-priced of the major companies (and they offer a lot of discounts), though they are sometimes picky about who they will accept. And they operate 24/7, around the clock, at the 1-800 number, without separate agents keeping daily office hours and closing down for the night. You can make a claim, ask questions, join up, change vehicles, or do any other buisness any time you want, day or night.

I got the FWD version. I don't expect to ever need AWD, so I think this is a better fit. Saves MPG.
Now....after tax season I NEED to get the windows tinted. It's a dark grey car with a black(cloth) interior.
And yes, through some networking I found a decent place at a low cost. Only 5-6 miles from work.
These are great cars. My sister in law works for the state of NY and she drives this generation Fusion as a state car all the time with LOTS of miles. We were up there when she had one over New Years with like 160k on the clock and it was in great shape, rode well...no rattles or anything.
