I put about 200 miles on it today, getting the only highway driving that it will probably see until after tax season.
I drove from LV back up to St. George, UT. Drove great, tracks straight, excellent power. According to the lie-o-meter I averaged about 28 mpg round trip. This was spirited driving with hills and construction. I only got hand calculated figures for the return trip, since I had left Vegas with about half a tank. I filled up before heading home and got about 27.6, once again dealing with hills, traffic, and construction. Still better than the best recorded MPG I got in the LS.
Still trying to figure out the Sync system, but I think I'm going to use a thumb drive for audio. BT works with my Nexus, but it doesn't allow me to select a track by voice(other than next or previous). Because Google removed USB Mass Storage, it won't sync up via USB. Phone commands work great though, so I'll still use the BT for phone calls.
The interior lighting is beautiful. Love the gauges. Also, while in St. George, I saw my old LS400 at wal-mart. I guess they have it back up and going again.
People weren't lying when they warned me about insurance in Nevada. Most quotes I've gotten are v in the $300/month range. I am a single 24 year old male with a clean driving record.
I did finally find an Allstate agent who is cutting me a rate of $120/month. Still expensive imo.
$300 is outrageous, i pay less than that for 3 vehicles.. I'm a little older but still that is just nuts. Time to get a part time job in a near by casino...
