love the looks! I disliked it at first but have learned to like it. An in-house 3.0-4.0L inline6 TT would have been ideal, but would have costed toyota a few billion $$$$ to develop. I'm sure this will have far greater performance that its predecessor the mkiv, stock for stock.

They can always apply the engine across Lexus lineups and other higher end Toyota products, say the Land Cruiser, GX, 4Runner, LX, GS and etc.

Is this even bigger than a Miata? I do like it though.

Loving the looks!

The wheelbase is shorter than the BRZ i believe but the actual car is a little longer.

Just very mediocre looking and that is the lowered racing version with ground effects which generally look much better, the production version will be even more conservative. It is way too small, at least it looks that way, the last Supra had a sexy shape, mainly because it was pretty long and low, for a real Supra replacement it should have been based on and have the general look and proportions of the LC500, not a small BMW roadster. This looks smaller then a 370Z with the same general look and proportions so it won't be the Corvette/911 killer/competitor the last one was.

hmmm, the LC500 is a much longer car.

the mk4, has a 100.4" wheelbase
the LC500 has a 113" wheelbase
the mk5 has a 97.2" wheelbase
the SC300/400 has a 105.9 wheelbase

it looks small, but only has a 3.2" shorter wheelbase than its predecessor. the longer wheelbase coupes was reserved for Lexus.

agreed, and I'm hopeful of what the next generations will bring now that they bought into the I6 technology BMW has to offer.

Personally i love the design and the BMW B58 engine (inline 6 single turbo) looks very promising.
With a BMS JB4 tune (Burger Motorsports) that motor can make 379WHP and with the addition of an intake and down pipe 395WHP.

i don't think an engine developed for a car like this would be good for giant heavy vehicles like gx/lx...

No I'm not saying apply the BMW engine. I'm saying Toyota could have developed their own I-6 and apply it across the lineup.

Then how do the Germans use different tunes of the same engine family across coupes/sedans/up through their largest crossovers?
