2015 Genesis Sedan Thread
all of the copy who copy what talk really doesn't matter because the branding appeal is not there.
people buy bmw 5 series 7 series for it's status appeal. A luxury division brand would have given it a fresh new appeal.

gotta say, regardless of all he copying talk, the Genesis is a really good looking vehicle! that plus its 10yr/100k warranty and competitive pricing, it's hard to not take it into consideration tbh

i can do this too. LS came before 7 series by the way.
and new LS which came after.

side profile comparison between last 2 gen 7 series vs LS

look at the proportion of these two. it's nearly identical.

It's called a trend, folks. holfmeister kink, similar proportion, similar green house. etc, etc. they probably do this because it gives the best chance of planted feel, agressive look, better aerodynamics, and flagship presence.
here is a hatchback design from another era. say it with me - T R E N D

when will you guys ever learn.

i'm as cool as the other side of the pillow. i'm just continuing the debate. What i see is brands deciding the best design for their products. they make business decisions, use certain design cues to make their cars better. lexus could easily make their LS look liks LFA sedan. hyundai could easily copy rolls phantom with their Equus.
it's a billion dollar industry, folks. they aren't idiots.

To me Hyundai isn't really bring anything new to the tabel. They are just reusing old design cues. And yea other automakers have done the same. The Genesis clearly has a lot of BMW in it. I have no issues with what Hyundai is doing. To be honest I could care less because I won't be buying one.

agreed. It's a luxury car for a non luxury brand. they had to play safe. but IMO, hyundai was daring(relatively speaking) on lower models such as Veloster and even Elantra. For Kia, they had plenty of fun with designing new Soul, but they took a safe 'let's make our $55k car look like a german' approach on their new flagship. i was severely disappointed by that decision.
Trends are different from stealing the entire bodywork of another manufacturer. Don't try and soften this up.
Frankly I'm surprised even Hyundai fanboys are giving the new Genesis the pass, I would still be outraged as a Hyundai fanboy.
