With all these rumours lately, from all companies, I'll believe it when I see it. That goes for BRZ STI, new STI, RX7-8, 240sx, S2000 etc. Forget about mitsubishi, that brand is practically dead in N.A.
And last but not least, let's not forget about the infamous NSX that has been rumoured for ages, coming in and off from Acura. Talking about the NSX is like beating a dead horse.

If mazda's new line up does well, I could definitely see this back in the mix! Hope they don't make it to RX8 like. I hated that car.

Would love to see it. I don't doubt Mazda's determination or ability to produce it. I do think it will be a business decision based on whether there is a market for it. Sport coupes sports cars are a hard sell these days.

The last RX-7 did have razor-sharp handling, but much of that was because of VERY lightweight parts and a chassis/suspension that tended to bend or break parts if driven on rough roads. It was also like riding inside a drum...the noise level was deafening. If they do another RX-7, more attention is going to have to be paid to the solidness of the structure, insulation, and the parts that go into it.

I loved the look/body style of the RX-7 90's model. Refine those line/body style and include what mmarshall has mentioned about chassis/suspension/parts. The possible new look (RX-7) picture is a no go for me.

The last RX-7 was one of the best Japanese sports car designs ever and it was one of the best handling Japanese cars too, it is a shame they did not sell more and there were issues with the rotary engine and chassis.

I really hope they do another RX-7, they need something above the Miata. They should just build on the last design but give it more flair, power, a little more room, and make it more reliable. I hope to see a modern turbo rotary engine. I really wish we got the last generation Cosmo luxury coupe too with the 3 rotor turbo motor.
