Stop sale until August 4th for the software issue. They posted the sales date. The dealer I was talking to tried to add 3k markup for it being a new vehicle and it gave me a hell of a laugh.

Quite an odd release, hope it works out. Really want to try out the hybrid.

The hybrid Q50 with be the FASTEST hybrid in the world.. The M35H is the fastest hybrid right now and the Q50 with be lighter and have better drag coefficient.. I work for Infiniti in NJ and I was going to get the car but me lease is up and the car is not here yet and the lease promotions are not good... I also have to have A/C seats and the Q50 does not offer it which boggles my mind. YOu can change the steering ration and weight but no AC seats..
I think the this will turn Infiniti around.. They are releasing 5 new models in next 5 years.. They will finally have something to compete with the LS in a few years, and they will refresh the EX35 (QX50) to compete with the RX350.. Infiniti was getting stale but with this new car and the next 5 years should be great for Infiniti.. I will have a Q50S hybrid AWD in 2 years when my 27 month GS lease is up.. The only reason I ended up getting the GS is because the lease was cheaper to lease a 56K GS350 then it will be to lease a 44K Q50 in the next 2 months..

Infiniti also went to the Q and QX naming because alot of other letter where all-ready trademarked and they will be releasing a lot of new models.. The guy from Audi was also a big part of the new naming

The LS600hL is not supposed to be an efficiency hybrid anyway so it is not about the gas mileage. I average about 21-22 with normal driving and 27-28 on highway trips not that those numbers are all that impressive but it is one heavy beast. However you are right, not sure how anyone can justify the price increase over a loaded LS460L.

Do not modify the vehicle
IMO, nothing at all surprising about it. That's what I've been saying for years....in general, the less one screws around with factory parts or settings, the better off the car is likely to be.

Even in its class, other hybrids such as the Panamera and Mercedes S class hybrids are much better. The Lexus hybrid just does not make sense at over $30,000 more the the regular LS600L.

why are they better? based on what?

Reason Infiniti hybrids (so far) suck, is not the specs... it is overall system.. it is not well integrated. This is why it gets rated the worst when mags do the comparo... while GS450h gets rated the best.

Sure it is expensive... but still the best.

GS's system is much better and yes it does yield what the sticker says. Unfortunatley the car is just overpriced. If it was say a 2 grand premium over a GS350 like a ES350/ES300h or even up to around a 5 grand premium like the RX350/RX450h that would be fathomable. But 12 grand?! Average MSRP is $70K on the GS450h vs $57K F-Sport or $58K Luxury. They'd be smart to lower the price, they'd sell more and help make the GS a more viable line.

They are better because they get MUCH better gas mileage and are a hell of alot cheaper. Hell even the BMW 740 LI hybrid is much better than the Lexus hybrid and can be had for $85k.

I'd like to know what mag camparo's you are talking about where infiniti hybrids gets the worst ratings?

Actually you're really comparing apples and oranges here. The BMW and Mercedes are I6 Turbo and V6 coupled with electric motors. The LS is V8 with electric motors. So yes the Germans get better fuel economy. When the LS initally launched it was pegged to have V12 performance with V8 fuel economy which is somewhat did. Obviously now its lost the "V12 peformance" tag considering actual V12's are far above 438hp these days. I'd imagine a LS450h somewhere down the line with a 3.5L V6 and electric motors good for 338hp combined. We'll see though

Disagree, Not sure how its apple to oranges comparison here, both cars are in the same class. What else would you compare the Lexus to where it's apples to apples?

Same class yes but again the powerplant is the variable. The Germans are cheaper because of the mill under the hood. They are more fuel efficient because the mill under the hood. They are less powerful because of the mill under the hood. The difference is the LS is a performance hybrid whereas the Germans are fuel efficient hybrids (to a point). Again when you see a LS450h hybrid then you will have a direct comparison between hybrid flagships. Point in case the LS600hL is the pinnacle of LS's. The MBZ S65 AMG is the pinnacle of S-Classes - totally different.

The LS600hL is in a class of its own literally, and carved itself a niche no one else wants to or has attempted to play in.
