Features a variety of BMW M Performance Parts
BMW has unveiled their new M4 Coupe DTM safety car.
Based on the road-going model, the safety car has been equipped with a variety of BMW M Performance Parts including a carbon fiber front splitter, carbon fiber mirror caps, a carbon fiber rear spoiler and a carbon fiber rear diffuser. Other highlights include a black grille, aerodynamic side skirts and a titanium exhaust system. The model also has DTM livery, a KW coilover suspension and emergency lights on the roof.
The sporty modifications continue in the cabin as there's Recaro racing seats, Schroth harnesses and carbon fiber trim. The model also has a race communication system and a roll cage that replaces the rear seat.
Like the standard model, the DTM safety car is powered by a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder engine that develops 431 PS (317 kW) and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque. It is connected to an M double-clutch transmission which enables the coupe to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in just 4.1 seconds.
According to BMW Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt, “Having decided to start the 2014 DTM season with a new challenger, in the form of the BMW M4 DTM, it was a logical step to have BMW M GmbH put together a BMW M4 Coupe DTM Safety Car." He went on to say "To lead the DTM field out in style, the safety car itself must also be extremely sporty. The BMW M4 Coupé certainly provided us with the basis to achieve this.”

Company gave away a bespoke M6 Gran Coupe last year
BMW has announced the best qualifier for the 2014 MotoGP season will be given an M4 Coupe.
The company didn't have much to say about the model but it appears to feature a Sakhir Orange Metallic exterior and white leather sport seats.
Like the standard model, the car has a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder engine that develops 431 PS (317 kW) and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque. It enables the coupe to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in as little as 4.1 seconds before hitting an electronically-limited top speed of 155 mph (250 km/h) or 174 mph (280 km/h) with the M Driver's Package.
As we have previously reported, BMW has a longstanding relationship with MotoGP and gave last year's best qualifier a bespoke M6 Gran Coupe with a Frozen Black exterior.

It suffices to say, the M235i is stealing the 435i Coupe's thunder, if not in sales, on forums and the internet in general, and there are plenty of reasons why this is happening, beginning with the more affordable price that includes the M Sport kit, the 20hp stronger engine, and the lighter and more nimble body and chassis combo.
Nevertheless, as the direct successor of BMW's hugely successful line of 3-Series Coupes that dates back to the 1970s, the 4-Series is one of the first choices or benchmarks, if you prefer, in the category.
One thing we've noticed catching up with BMW owners of both models lately are the brand's line of M Performance accessories and especially the aero kits. BMW of Abu Dhabi has been constantly feeding us with examples fitted with these components, the latest one being a 435i Coupe in M Sport trim, finished in a Melbourne Red metallic paint.
The car keeps the standard M Sport alloy wheels adding the M Performance side skirts, rear apron and diffuser combo, carbon fiber front apron and splitter, boot lid spoiler, and mirror caps, plus a gloss black grille and an available Akrapovic Exhaust System.

Fail. The lower black trim pieces blend in with shadows and the darkness of the ground, causing the car to look jacked up like a 4x4. The first intuition with any sports car or sporty sedan is to make it appear lower to the ground, not higher up.

Canada's aftermarket tuner Duke Dynamics has added the four-door Gran Coupe and the M4 Convertible to its growing lists of 'to do things' for BMW's new 4-Series range, following the release of a handful of renderings teasing the M4 Coupe's wide body kit earlier this year.
No specific details have been announced yet, but for the 4-Series Gran Coupe, Duke Dynamic's styling package appears to include an aero kit with reworked M Sport bumpers and side skirts, a vented hood, carbon fiber grilles and roof wrap, plus a bigger set of gloss black wheels.
Just like it's hardtop sibling, the new M4 Convertible will get a fat booty cosmetic makeup with its very own M3 E46 CSL-style trunk and fender extensions.
All of these kits are expected to be released during the course of this year.

For purists, the M4 Convertible with the retractable hardtop that brings with it a hefty weight penalty is the least desirable version of BMW's new M3/M4 series, but not all drivers are weekend track racers nor do they try to extract every dollop of performance from their cars, so the ability to enjoy open-top driving comes as an added bonus.
In any case, the reason why we're sharing these photos that were shot by members of the Auogespot forums with you is because we haven’t seen the new M4 Convertible (priced from $73,425 in the States) in these colors before, namely, the regularly available Yas Marina Blue and the upcoming Frozen Red with a semi-gloss finish.
Yesterday, we showed you the M3 Sedan in a trio of Frozen colors, which according to BMW managers, will be offered as a factory option from the beginning of next year.

Don't like BMW's own M Performance parts for the 4-Series Coupe? No problem; the aftermarket tuning industry has you covered with more offers than you can imagine… At this month's 2014 Tuning World Bodensee show, German firm Rieger joined the party presenting its styling kit for the Bavarian automaker's M Sport version of the 4er.
On the aero side of things, Rieger offers a carbon fiber package comprising a protruding front apron, exterior mirror caps, side skirts and a new rear diffuser.
To get your ride looking like the red 435i M Sport demo car seen here, you'll have to add the gloss black double kidney grilles, the alloy wheels (available in different colors), the sport's exhaust with the M4-esque quad tips and the racing stripes.

BMW didn't just slap a number 4 on a carryover 3 Series that happened to have two doors. The new 4 Series features fresh aesthetics inside and out, powertrains boasting 8-speed automatic transmissions, and the lowest center of gravity of any vehicle in BMW's lineup.
